“Repeal or face voters wrath in the mid-terms”

I wish that were true. The congressmen don’t seem to think so.

What we need is a crisis that convinces voters that spending and borrowing by government must be reduced.

Please tell me how that works. Who exactly will “face wrath?”

The GOP House did pass a (sort of) repeal and replace. Do you think the Congressmen will pay? Who, specifically?

As for the senators, here are your Republicans up for reelection in 2018:

AZ: Jeff Flake
NE: Deb Fischer
WY: John Barrasso
TX: Ted Cruz
NV: Dean Heller
UT: Orrin Hatch
MS: Roger Wicker
TN: Bob Corker

Ok, which ones of those will you primary? Cruz has fought for a free market bill, so he’s out.

Flake? He and Heller are probably the weakest. In 2016 McTurd had a challenge from Trumper Kelli Ward. He won by 11% (meaning Ward did better than the D against McTurd). Still, 11% is a big gap. Can Ward beat Flake? It will definitely be easier, but still he is the incumbent with a ton of money, the McTurd and state machine behind him. I’d say 50/50 that he can be removed as of today.

Heller: He has distanced himself from Trump trying to “triangulate.” I’m no expert on NV politics, so I can’t say where he is right now, but once again, an incumbent.

Barrasso: Probably one of the more “conservative” senators who might be vulnerable to charges of backstabbing in a conservative state. So, who’se your candidate?

Corker: He’s probably close to Heller in terms of vulnerability-—but it gets back to, “Who’se your candidate?”

Wicker: Has remained hidden in the shadows. Makes it tough to primary him.

Hatch: Rumored to be retiring, with Minion Romney or Egg McMuffin likely to run for his spot. Do you think that helps us in any way?

I know nothing about NE and Fischer.

Josh Mandel will beat Sherrod Brown, so conceivably there is one “conservative” repeal pickup there.

We are much more likely to see conservative Rs defeat Casey, Baldwin, Heitkamp, and McKaskill. However, as of now, no specific candidates on the horizon, Joe Piscopo pulled out of the race against Menendez.

Not to throw ice water on your “facing wrath,” but I don’t see it. At the very best, we pick up six or possibly seven new faces of whom SOME will be more pro-repeal than others. At worst, all of the incumbents come back with no change.

...Repeal or face voters rath in the mid-terms....

How many election cycles have we said that? And yet they still refuse. And they still do nothing but promise to do so if elected or reelected.

Boters' wrath is a myth. These guys lose primaries in a very small number of cases. "Better to re-elect a charlatan incumbent with some influence then get a newby with none."
Also, how many primare replacements go on to exhibit principle? one in 10? less? certainly not more. New boss same as the old boss. These guys in Congress do not fear the voters. Not at all. So they lose an election. So what? They get hired by a company that desires their services as lobbyists at much higher pay.
