Junk science. They want death panels. No more chemo for you.

I don't think it's "junk science" -- the idea behind chemotherapy and radiotherapy is essentially to kill more cancerous cells than the cancer can replace, and considering that your perfectly normal body has cancerous cells at any point in time that's a suspect strategy -- the healthy body correctly identifies these cells and terminates them, which is why even though you have cancerous cells at any point you aren't considered to "have cancer".

Here's an article from 2013 that describes how bacteria can be used; and I'm sure I read a paper a couple years before that detailing how salmonella could essentially 'reset' the immune-system to recognize the cancer. (I couldn't find it, but here's a recent article that describes it.)

The early days of chemo were nothing more than a radioactive sledgehammer but my oncologist has told me it’s getting far more refined. Radiation, along with special drugs which target cancer weak points now provide a one-two punch promising shorter radiation exposures and better results.

The next big thing are various types of immunotherapies which either (a) teaches the immune system to target specific cancer cells or (b) eliminates the “cancer-deceptive barriers” which fool the immune system making the cancer an identified threat (and subject to attack).

Immunotherapy does require a cocktail of drugs (and some degree of radiation) but hopes are that immunotherapy can be the standard treatment in the future.

If I had cancer, I would sure as hell would take the appropriate chemotherapy. I am a pharmacist. The proof is in the statistics. Many many many are alive today due to chemotherapy.

Yes. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, my wife would be dead without having had her chemo treatments. She has had surgery to remove lymphoma flareups, radiation to reduce others. But it was the chemo treatments that did the job and she is now in remission. Her doctor told her that the new drugs were not available a few years earlier than when she started receiving treatments and she would have been out of luck.

One of my daughters worked at Genentech for many years before leaving last year for another job. She told us of the many clinical trials and millions of research dollars spent proving these drugs work before the FDA gives them the approvals to market them. My wife received some of these Genentech drugs in her chemo cocktails. I would trust the reports from Genentech long before believing in some random journalist's story.

Socialized medicine can save a lot of money in the long run if they cut off chemo.

I am skeptical.

I lost My 2nd Wife to this HORRIBLE DISEASE AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED!

All courtesy of the VA.

Breast to Kidney,Liver,Pancreas,Lung and finally Her Brain.

After: Chemotherapy,Mastectomy and Radiation.

It’s horrible. The Brain swells until the Cerebral Spinal fluid is pushed out of the scull rupturing the Spinal cord in an AGONIZING runup to suddenly instant death...

I HATE CANCER!!!!
At least She no longer hurts

A friend of my daughter was diagnosed with cancer and given six months to live. She refused the medical profession’s standard procedures and took over her own care which included changing her diet and other alternative therapies. She lived six years and just recently died. She “refused” their chemo and other drugs and lived over five years longer than they predicted.

I get regular chemo infusions of a drug produced by Genentech. Without the infusions I would be dead (90%). With... I’m in remission.

Who knows how long it will last, but for now it is allowing LIFE. I Thank God for big pharma.

So sorry for what you and your wife endured. My baby sister fought glioblastoma multiforme brain cancer for over two years while I was her primary care-giver. You can’t be the same after that.

My leukemia chemo rounds never had a chance of curing me, but they bought me enough years for a “miracle drug” to become available. So now I take a pill each day and have no trace of disease. It’s a damn expensive pill, to be sure, but it works.

Most cancers will never be cured by any therapy which simply kills cancer cells, because the fundamental flaw is in the immune system, in that it doesn’t recognize the cancerous cells and destroy them. If you kill every cancer cell but leave the “hole” in the immunity net, eventually another cell will mutate in a manner to fit through the hole in the immune system, and you have cancer again.

There is a newer approach called chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy which actually reprograms the immune system to recognize and attack the cancer. Pretty cool.

I read reports 50 years ago that operations that open the tumor to air - and the instruments - spread cancer....

But cancer is BIG $$$$$

Not to mention the articles about many breast cancer diagnoses are wrong and many go thru’ all the horror when they never had cancer.

I also remember a neighbor, feeling ill, over 35 years ago that was given exploratory operation.

they closed her up and told the husband it was cancer but there’s nothing we can do. It has spread to far.

the husband told them not to tell her. He wanted her to live what time she had left without the specter of death hanging over her days.

She lived more than 30 yrs more.

Prayer works.

Chemo is only SEVEN PERCENT EFFECTIVE.

It’s poison. And at $50,000 a pop, you represent half a million dollars to a hospital or doctor who prescribes ten sessions. Or a million at twenty.

May God damn the souls of people who wittingly prescribe chemo for cancer, knowing it is just glorified poison.

Sunlight (D3) juicing, non GMO foods, stimulating lymph system... cures cancer and I happen to know. The Lord healed me of cancer last year. Praise You, Lord God, Praise You, dear Jesus.

Not the statistics I read and confirmed with my doctors last year when I absolutely refused chemo or radiation. It’s laughable. I’m cancer free.

Again, may God damn the souls of those who wittingly know chemo is just glorified poison but prescribe it anyway.

Thank you, you are absolutely right and I am cancer free today without chemo.

For the third time, may God damn the souls of those who wittingly prescribe chemo, knowing it’s seven percent survival rate and that it is just glorified poison.

It also doesn’t tell us what chemo was studied. The new targeted therapies like herceptin and its successors are totally different. Chemo is a very complex subject. All they found was it has certain effects that can promote spread but it has other, opposite effects.

You are correct for initial cancer chemo and radiation make only small statistical differences. But for a recurrence it may be the only thing offering a remission. Whether it saves some from any recurrence in the first place is a risk most people feel they should take.

So instead of dying quickly of your first cancer, you end up living long enough to get another cancer that kills you years later.

doctors are aware of the problem, but now that some chemotherapy is used for other diseases, it is a real dilemma...in effect you knock out cells that quickly reproduce, and as a side effect it lowers your immunity to lots of other diseases, like TB or certain cancers.

Examples...severe crippling rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, or after a transplant.

Chemo is Nazi death science, meant to kill and destroy.

Cancer naturally occurs in everybody. It becomes a problem when your sewage system, your lymphatic system, is clogged because of liver or kidney toxicity.

Clean your liver and kidney and you will not have cancer, I don’t care if you are near death. Chemo kills and makes for a trillion dollar cancer industry.

Sunlight is also a very important element to healing. And thank you Jesus, once again for healing me.
