I didn’t know there was a “Texas City”. I kept wondering what city? Her life and her victims lives are forever ruined by a bad choice. Sad all around.

It is not a bad choice. Call it what it is...some drunk got behind the wheel of a deadly weapon.

Ain’t NO excuse for drinking and driving in this day and age. It is intentional. I hope she gets a long long jail sentence

Texas City is south of Houston and north of Galveston Texas. It was the place where one of the biggest industrial disasters ever in the US took place in. google it:)

Texas City was the site of an industrial accident that occurred April 16, 1947, in a suburb of Houston. An explosion of ammonium nitrate caused 581 people to die. It was the deadliest industrial accident in U.S. history, and one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in the world.

There’s a West, Texas in central Texas. When I first moved to the area a co-worker told me he lived in West, Texas. I thought “Damn! What a long drive to work !”

IIRC, there was a large explosion in Texas City a few years ago, and I was similarly confused at first by the headlines.

Sorry, but it is a choice - or was she forced to drive drunk? Furthermore, it was a bad choice - no way it was a good choice. I guess bad choice means something different to you - something that can be used as an excuse.

The very phrase “bad choice” by its definition precludes the use of an excuse. By the way, “intentional” is the very essence of making a choice.

Not really sure why you were so bothered by my post, when are sentiments are not really that different.

The penalty for killing someone while driving drunk should be death.

First DUI 25 lashes.

Second DUI 100 lashes and permanent loss of driver’s license. 100 lashes if caught driving.

Third DUI - execution.

Harsh punishment will knock drunk driving down to 1/50th of what it is now. Our ‘compassion’ is allowing the death and injury of 300,000!! people per year.

My mother was born and raised in West . And my grandparents live there until they died. I spent my whole life explaining to people where it was.

Actually, she was high on weed as per her own admission, no word if alcohol played a role in this.

Also from the article,
Haney is also an employee of Texas A&M University at Galveston, working as a lab safety and training coordinator

Sad for her we just cannot deport her....illegals get away with crimes here and TexAmericans have to pay both fines and jail time.

It’s all around sad.
