And yet... we can still give the devil so much airtime that the more initially subtle, yet ultimately more powerful love of God has a problem getting airtime in our minds.
We concentrate so much on what we hate that little attention is left for what deserves loving.
Let’s ask why we should hoot about blessed marriage and the ultimate claims it makes even upon the single, as prospective but not yet active participants.

I agree. I think it is true that the contemporary sexual revolution is essentially a re-normalization of ancient pagan sexual norms. But the advocates of the sexual revolution don’t realize or acknowledge this, partly because they don’t know enough history and partly because they don’t want to face the kinds of societies that are produced by complete sexual license, which quickly becomes predatory and exploitative. In a pagan sexual regime, Christian sexual ethics are liberating. We are perhaps not far from a rediscovery of that truth.
