Congress spends waaay tooo much time in DC. There should be two 4 week sessions per year max. The rest of the time they should all be in their districts tending the flock. They can vote electronically as well as video conference. The best Congress is a Congress that rarely meets.
There was nothing newsy about the financial situation of serving in Congress since he asked his voters to send him back again.
Shame on him.
They don’t need a “housing stipend”, which is in effect a pay increase. The congressional perks are obscene even before you could in, for example, being exempted from Obamacare.
Even if they choose to set up two full households, they’re already over the average American income per household.
If their congressional pay is way more than they’ve made otherwise, they shouldn’t complain about maintaining the modest lifestyle they otherwise can afford. If it isn’t, they out to have the resources to continue a decent lifestyle. The pension perks from “serving” are huge as well.
...”Jason Chaffetz’ ACU conservative voting rating (2017) is 96% (American Conservative Union). His lifetime ACU average is 92%. You don’t get much better than that”....
Well it’s pretty obvious some have issues with him.....but then some expect their desires in politicians meet their own expectations. ... But that’s not how it works. At best you support those who come the closest regardless.
As mentioned I see no reason, that isn’t understandable, why he has determined this change in his life. Everybody does it at the timing of their own choosing. And even if it’s only to make more money, those who think there’s a cut off for how much one should make or aspire to need to remember that there is always someone making ‘less’ than you who may think likewise of them.................I’m of the mind make as much as you can and desire and don’t knock those who surpass your station in life, it makes you only look like a whiner.

Perhaps so...however Congress, even under the best of circumstances, obviously still is “broken” in how it conducts business.
I think Trump just got a team together to update the computer systems that are sooo outdated....both as a security measure, (likely Obama’s people have corrupted every computer), and so that Congress can indeed work more smoothly communication wise. Thus once that’s in place, (a giant endeaver to be sure) we may see some of the problems corrected.
But lets not forget Congress ‘likes’ to move things ‘slow’ so they all can hang around longer in their positions.....still way too much corruption in Congress itself!
Utah is full of cowards and panty waist men like they elect to Congress who use their Mormon religion to avoid serving this nation in COMBAT.
Leni, HE should be paid same wages like out patriot soldiers in combat zones !!!
Maybe he could qualify for section 8 housing ???
Maybe he could qualify for section 8 housing ???
He is not man enough to even sign up.
Step-son you mean. She birthed him a half-brother before divorcing his father, the brother was then adopted by her next husband, Dukakis.
Make flowers on her......why is he pretending to be English...
Ok I have to get around to watching that.
“Make flowers on her......why is he pretending to be English...”
Because he’s totally batsh*t insane. Those two are bro & sis.
“Ok I have to get around to watching that.”
“True Detective”, season 1 is an all time classic .
Do you think he might have a shower behind the copy machine? ;^)
D'oh. Slight error on my part.
Anyway, I'm surprised Chris Cannon never used the "Dukakis family chum" thing against that creep. I guess he probably never saw Chaffetz as a credible threat. Too bad Matt Throckmorton didn't unseat Cannon in the previous election cycle. Unlike Chaffetz, Throckmorton seems to be more of a true believer. I guess Chaffetz just had the luck of running in an anti-incumbent year, since it seems Throckmorton ran the higher profile anti-Cannon campaign despite losing.
Per internet research, Cannon had a lifetime ACU rating of 97% (compared to Chaffetz's 92%) and Cannon was a notable voice for some hardcore conservative positions that a lot of "mainstream" GOP politicians won't touch (for example, Cannon ran an internet campaign that promoted abolishing the Dept. of Education), so replacing Cannon with the allegedly "more conservative" Chaffetz was definitely a downgrade in hindsight.
