Everyone who watched the recent Project Veritas video of Van Jones clearly heard him say that "the Russia thing is just a big nothing burger." However, Van Jones appeared on the June 29 Anderson Cooper 360 show to declare that we misinterpreted what he was saying. Jones spun it that what he meant was that the hope for impeachment of President Donald Trump based on the proofless charge of collusion with Russia in the 2016 election was the real "nothing burger."

Van is already in hot water with his fellow progressives because he’s been asking them to tone down all the Impeachment talk. Van Jones has also committed the Cardinal Sin of giving President Trump the occasional compliment when he makes a good speech. So, he’s on thin ice with his peeps.
This explains his attempt to walk back certain statements that do not support a continued campaign based on hysteria.
He speaks of “problems in our party...” Huh???? CNN is a party? I guess they kinda ARE.

Gonna be honest here, when I first saw the clip I thought that was what Van Jones might be saying. Because his very next sentence was “There’s nothing there you can DO.” Which indicates pretty clearly he meant that nothing would come of it—not necessarily that the issue was invented.
Seriously people, this is Van flipping Jones we’re talking about. You really think HE believes the issue was bogus?
IMHO O’Keefe was being sloppy with that one. Or release more of the tape and prove otherwise.

There is nothing I can do about convicting Hilary Clinton for her massive widespread corruption, but if asked about it, I would not use the term “nothing burger” to mean pursuit is futile. Nothing burger means there is nothing there. That is all it ever has meant.
If he followed up with “there’s nothing there”, then I’d agree. He didn’t. He followed up with “there’s nothing you can DO.”
Regardless, it’s much less clear-cut than the other two clips and O’Keefe needs to be careful not to undermine his better material. The left is going to beat this into the ground as an example of “selective editing”, and I for one will be hard pressed to disagree.
