MOSCOW (AP) — Authorities say a bomb planted under or inside a car has killed a senior Ukrainian military intelligence officer in the country’s capital.

Photos from the scene showed the mangled vehicle in the middle of a Kiev intersection. Police say the car’s driver was killed immediately and two passers-by were slightly injured in the Tuesday morning blast.

The Defense Ministry identified the victim as Col. Maxim Shapoval of the Chief Directorate of Intelligence. Ukrainian media reported that Shapoval was chief of military intelligence’s special forces.

Most seem to blame “Russian Intelligence.” Several other people have been targeted in Ukraine recently.

Well, the FSB has the motive and is known to have bombed people in the past. They’re the natural suspects.

I wish Soros would piss off Putin and trump, at the same time, for different reasons.

His day is coming. It may be glorious or maybe just a whimper, but its coming.

I could say the same about the Clintons.

There are accusations the FSB [a/k/a KGB in earlier days] conducted the apartment bombings of Sept 1999 ... these bombings boosted Putin’s influence.

Among those making the accusation was the guy who was later poisoned with polonium, if I recall correctly.

More seriously, Putin doesn’t give a damn about Trump, congressional probes, the Democrats, Jared Kushner or Borscht.

If someone gets in his way, he has him/her killed, be they in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, or England.

Time to take him seriously and let him know that there is a new sheriff in town and he’s sporting some big artillery.

What motive would the Clintons have for assassinating a Ukrainian intelligence officer?

The FSB bombed a series of residential apartment buildings in Russia and blamed it on the Chechens. They got caught red-handed when one of the bombs didn’t go off and was tied to FSB agents, then tried to blame it on a “training exercise” (with live explosives of the exact type used in the other bombings!). They also screwed up when one of their underlings in parliament made a statement about a bombing that hadn’t happened yet... that apartment building blew up 2 days later.

A two decades old conspiracy theory which lacks evidence and should not be the basis for any current objective criticism.

Here is how that story was being reported at the time
