New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said of the removal of his city’s monuments: “To literally put the Confederacy on a pedestal in our more prominent places—in honor—is an inaccurate recitation of our full past, is an affront to our present and it is a bad prescription for our future”. I was just at Gettysburg about two weeks ago. First time in my life, and I cant put into words the feelings that I had by being there. That place is a National treasure and needs to remain as a reminder of what this country went through during those dark days.

For the record, nobody has removed any monuments in Arizona - yet.
If someone wanted to start a new civil war in America I can think of no better way than dishonoring the memory of the dead from the last one.
