Technically, all energy is renewable. It is a closed loop except for sunlight - which, oddly enough, is the engine.
They are idiots. In a snowstorm, big plow trucks get people out of trouble, and are run by gasoline, not solar power. During a power failure, generators come on in hospitals, and are run by gasoline/kerosene/oil. At the research stations at the South Pole, there are no solar power collectors. The generators are run on oil.
Switching to all “renewable” means stopping dead in our tracks, no progress, no development. And that’s the goal of these leftists. To turn the USA into a backward country.
Virtually any undergrad physics/EE major would come to the same conclusion, albeit with admittedly less preciseness.
Only those on the left side of the curve (e.g, politicians, journalists, SJW losers, and other folks to whom fifth grade math is akin to calculus) believe any of the sustainability (or human caused climate change) bull Obama.
Once their carasses turn into fertilizer and enrich the top soil.
I love the TV ad where this lovely young lady who purports to be a scientist for an oil company urges people to believe that her research may soon produce algae as a substitute for fossil energy.
I would love to see the estimates of the land mass and vertical size of the vats needed to produce sufficient algae to be turned into enough electricity to charge a Tesla.
OMG! There is no such thing as “renewable” energy. Jeez, even the people arguing against “it” can’t understand this.
It’s interesting how a former government employee finally gets a paper out blowing the renewable farce out of the water. He probably would have done the same while employed by NOAA, had he been permitted to do so. Elections do have consequences. Expect to see more such refutations of “settled science” in the next couple of years, and some of it will be from those same government agencies that were forced to shut their mouths for the past eight years.
Payback is a .....
So I was at a meeting last night for a building science group. It was made up of energy auditors, builders etc. Some were legitimate tree huggers and others we looking for ways to properly build homes and in the process drastically reduce energy use.
One builder mentioned that there’s no need for any fossil fuels in homes any more.
In a sense he has a point. When tremendous attention is payed to air sealing, insulation, controlled ventilation and proper building techniques, an electric mini-split HVAC system, induction stove and newer hybrid water heaters probably make sense.
I didn’t have the heart to remind him what powers the electrical generating station...good ole natural gas and coal.
