DURHAM, N.C. - A North Carolina man has been arrested after police say he kidnapped a family at gunpoint and forced them to take him shopping.
Durham police say on Tuesday 29-year-old Rollin Anthony Owens Jr. knocked on the door of a house in the West End neighborhood asking for money. A resident gave Rollins money, but police say he then used a gun to force the residents - a man, woman and two children - out of the house and into their vehicle. Owens allegedly made the driver take him to a convenience store, then a Target, where police say Owens forced them to purchase several bags of clothing and gift cards.
While in the store, a victim managed to ask an employee for help, who in turn called 911.

Being forced to shop at Target - hate crime.
Saw this on the news. Apparently the ‘youth’ assaulted several people over several days including 2 students who he also abducted. He forced one in the trunk and made the other drive to an ATM. A fellow student called police when she saw a phone on the ground, crushed glasses from being driven over and blood on the ground. He then kidnapped an entire family the next day.
Needs to be dealt with severely.
That’s the only way I’d ever shop at Target.
I’ve never seen any one force someone to buy things for them.
Then again, this is liberalism in a nutshell: you’re forced to buy things for your own good.
This is just a logical extension of that mindset.
Actually younger and a change of melanin level but yeah the same in spirit. :)
Wal-Mart is one thing but being forced to shop at Target that is just going too far
I would comply until he ordered us to use the bathrooms...
“Gunman kidnaps family, forces them to shop at Target”
My wife does the same to get me to take her to Kohl’s.
Idiot liberals for opening the door in the first place.
Simple answer (through the locked door). “Sorry, we don’t keep any cash in the house.” Then, when they go next door, call 911.
I knew perp was black when the first line of the article didn’t say, “A North Carolina White, Christian male....”
I’d rather shop at Kohl’s than Target!...................
Also a principle of Islam.
Me too
:)
LOL!
Yeah, that’s what it would typically take for me to shop at Target.
Yep. Get a rope.
