I agree with your post except for one phrase — “Islamists against Islamists”. Erdogan & his Turkish forces are Islamists; the Kurds & their alliance members are not.

They are all Islamists, muslims, of so many sects. Call them what you will, they all hate whomever is not part of their faction. This is a mess—all due to the false “prophet” named Mahomet.
Trump said he would end ISIS during the campaign.
And he is doing just that. He is a do it now type of leader. And he chose the right man to help him. Gen. Mattis.
And the right guy to help with the State Dept., T-Rex.

I meant Iran and Turkey, both are Islamists, both employ terrorists.
One is Shia the other is Sunni. Kurds are all over the board when it comes to Islam. Many marginally tacit Muslims. Iraq Kurds are 98% Muslim. But a bit more laid back than Turkey. Syrian Kurds vary with community. Are totally secular.

I’ve become accustomed to seeing stock photos in the Middle East publications, often not correct. But I would not have noticed it anyway. I did see the barrel is extended.
Great pressure is beginning to come down on Erdogan. His bluster has been very damaging. His actions and his statements do not support each other. He lies a lot.
