The State Department has opened a formal probe into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her aides to determine whether they mishandled classified information with their email practices while serving in government.
The department's investigation seeks to determine whether Clinton or her aides violated government procedure by using her private email server to send and receive classified information, Fox News reported Tuesday.
Clinton and her top aides still have security clearances to access sensitive information despite being under investigation.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, confirmed to Fox News the investigation into Clinton and her staff.
The investigation comes after the FBI determined in July 2016 that Clinton and her aides at the State Department were "extremely careless" with their handling of classified information. Still, then-FBI Director James Comey recommended that the Justice Department should bring no criminal charges against Clinton, arguing that the former Democratic presidential candidate did not have the intent to commit criminal activity.
The Senate Judiciary Committee in March launched a separate investigation into Clinton's handling of government emails.
Clinton and her top aides could have their security clearances revoked pending the outcome of the investigation.

Now that the Dems are in the mood to “get to the bottom of things”.
Oh, for heaven’s sake, we already know she did that, thanks to the FBI investigation. She just wasn’t charged, since she’s a Clinton and apparently above the law. I had a TS/SCI clearance for 30+ years, and if I’d done just ONE of the things we already know she did, I’d be in Leavenworth, disgraced, convicted, with no military retirement pension and my life ruined. Indict, already!
Excellent and classic Clinton run-out-the-clock tactic. Have an investigation conducted by an entity that has zero indictment power, is full of leftover cronies, and “will conduct ongoing procedural reviews to ensure that such occurrences will no longer occur so long as they do not recur”. Like there needs to be a script written here. Put Lois Lerner in charge.
There will also be lots of mistakes made in the course of the kabuki investigation so that even if they recommend to feed her into a plastic shredder, Congress will have to review, reflect, genuflect, consult, exult, visit diversity pavilions, go on some whale-hugging expeditions in the Antarctic in the course of their investigation and not one single shred of anything will ever happen.

A separate investigation into the Clinton Foundation and Hillary’s influence peddling while at State needs to take place as well...
AND maybe, just maybe they will indict her and her band of criminals that destroyed evidence to hide her MANY felonies.
To say the fix was in is a significant understatement. Come(d)y and his band of FBI clowns would NOT have recommended charges be filed against Hillary unless he$$ froze over.
Come think of it, it did freeze over; Donald Trump was elected.
The email scam is just the tip of the iceberg of many felonies the DNC clowns and her pulled. This will lead to the necessary arrest of Hussein Obama himself, because if the gubermint convicts Hillary of email/classified material mishandling and the whole scam known as the DNC/IRS/FAST & FURIOUS/MUSLIM INVASION/BENGHAZI/ etc. collapse into the lies they are.
Indict Hillary and the Demonrat Party collapses into exposing the mafia crime organization it really is.
If us little people are accused of a crime it’s a pretty quick investigation.
For the elites (either party) it takes how many investigations, and years, and man-hours and dollars to say they are above the law?
Why does she still have a clearance at all????? My TS/SBI was shut down almost as soon as I discharged from the Air Force. And that was just standard procedure. I definitely recall signing the paperwork about the consequences of mishandling any classified material (I believe “up to” the death penalty was mentioned). So WHY DOES CLINTON still have a clearance????
