The president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is upset with the U.S. after 12 of his bodyguards were charged with assault for attacking peaceful protesters in Washington, D.C. last month.
In a blistering speech at an Iftar dinner event on Thursday, Erdogan questioned the legality of the charges and claimed that his bodyguards were protecting him from physical harm.
They have issued arrest warrants for 12 of my bodyguards. What kind of law is this? Erdogan said in the speech, according to Hurriyet Daily News.
If my bodyguards cannot protect me then why am I bringing them to America with me?

Diplomatic immunity. Let it go. Why do you think it happened? At least one of those American cops could of punched out one of theirs. Didn’t happen.
If the assault occurred outside the embassy gates, then the guards were not on turkey soil.
Diplomatic Immunity means they can kill and still go free by default. Of course, the country might waive diplomatic immunity at that point (depending on the severity of the crime). Punching a bunch of protesters can be seen as heroic. It can be heroic. Just need to make sure your side does the punching.

Watch the whole thing.
Turkey is one of four countries who do not grant diplomatic status for all US Embassy personnel in Ankara. At the very least, we should limit his entourage in the future, and not grant dip status to everyone.
Dear Sultan Erdogan:
I’m sorry, but I seem to have lost the world’s smallest violin.
Now why don’t you go and amuse yourself by handing out more of those: “geNOcide - An Armenian LIE Since 1915” placards?
And when you get bored of that, I’m sure you can find a few goats.
Seems to me there is an issue of the populace voting in very flawed leaders.
We saw it in the United States.
We’ve seen it in Urp.
We’ve seen it in Turkey.
Folks are going to have to wake up, like folks in the U.S. did.
Too bad, Erdogen.
Hey dude,
Your guys were jackasses in our country and about the shitiest guests ever.
You need to let this one go and try to be a good friend.
You many need us one day...

They will need America one day when the Russians come for them but I hope that America does not interfere. Byzantium is part of the West and the seat of the Orthodox Church. The Turks are just raping, murdering squatters.
Lying sack of sh*t. He stopped his motorcade and ordered his goons to attack peaceful protesters. It makes me sick that Trump “congratulated” this guy for tightening down his dictatorship. We don’t need phony “allies” like this. Pull our troops out of Turkey, and kick them out of NATO.
Cancel every single one of their FMS contracts and stop delivering material to TAI so they can’t co-produce the F-16. That will hurt more than kicking them out of NATO.
