Mitt Romney Says Hillary Clinton Urged Him to Take Secretary of State Job

Mitt Romney, former Republican presidential nominee who was under consideration for Secretary of State under President Trump, said on Friday that Hillary Clinton encouraged him to take the position.

Romney revealed during his annual political summit in Park City, Utah that he’d spoken to Clinton about taking on the role. The former Democratic presidential nominee was Secretary of State during President Barack Obama’s first term in office.

"I would’ve accepted the job," the former Massachusetts governor said.

WHOA! Wait a minute! What was Republican "severely conservative" Romney doing talking to Trump's defeated opponent, Hillary Clinton (a woman who lied about Benghazi and was under FBI investigation for having a private server and mishandling classified material while secretary of state), about whether or not he should take the job? She told him to!!! Now we find out at his little summit he's having with McConnell and Ryan has none other than JOE BIDEN speaking as a guest instead of the GOP President! I think we can be assured that Trump did not know of this conversation with Hillary, and the fact that Romney sought her opinion tells me that he would have been out there undermining Trump on the world stage. It's almost like the swamp is the exact same at the top. Thank God Trump didn't pick him. I still wonder if Trump led him on because of the way Romney treated him.

The way FR tends to do this kind of thing is to go head over heels for the newest conservative idol (after hating the hell out of him or her first). Kinda unbalanced.

An arm’s length endorsement with much prayer might have been the best thing here. FR tends to act like it’s the work of men that prevails. “Oh, he’s less bad than Obama, but we are visibly unenthused. Here, Lord, please do the best you can with Mitt.”
