“...“You reached that conclusion as far as Secretary Clinton was concerned, but you’re not reaching a conclusion as far as this administration is concerned,” ...”

I don’t understand all these negative comments. His statement above is a very fair statement. Why the pass on the Clintons versus his obvious attempt to put down the President. Give credit where credit is due.

I am furious at the way Comey and the Congress looked the other way and refused to even have a proper investigation to the many violations of law connected with both Clintons.

That doesn't explain why McCain referred to President Trump - a couple of times during his questioning - as "President Comey" or "Mr. Comey." I'm sorry, but he came across as confused and unable to grasp what James Comey was saying in response to his questions. It was painful to watch.

I echo your observation. For once, I thought McCain made a reasonable conclusion. Asking Comey why he went hog wild in public on the Clinton email non-prosecution - after laying out a litany of reasons for prosecution- yet mysteriously remaining silent on the Trump-Russia nonsense.

I won’t go as far as to call McCain astute, but in this case, I think he deserves credit for showing Comey’s criteria are a moving target.

Yeah, I don’t get it either. I may be missing something here, but it seems to be a legitimate question. Why would he go out in public - twice! - to announce the closing of the investigation and then the re-opening of the investigation wrt Hillary but not go out and say Trump is not the target of any current investigation?

And Comey’s excuse that “he may have to correct the record” doesn’t hold water either. He had no problem correcting the record several times wrt Hillary. There is nothing wrong with saying something like “at this time Trump is not being investigated”. If something came up later he could easily ‘correct the record’ by stating the new evidence. And yet, even after all of this, it all seems to be way outside protocol and outside the chain of command. FBI brings the evidence, not the charges. He can really only state what is being investigated and what is being referred to the AG. He is not supposed to be the witness and the judge by usurping the role of the AG.
