There’s something afoot in Michigan which will come as welcome news to Second Amendment supporter around the nation. The state house passed a new bill this week which, if signed into law by Governor Rick Snyder, would make it legal for residents to carry their handguns concealed without needing any special permit to do so. Reuters reports that the move remains controversial, but Republicans in the state even found a few Democrats to vote with them on the measure.

As it should be. Too late for this session in NV. A Constitutional Carry bill was ponied up but ended up in the "dead letter box".

Michigan has Dearborn(istan) There have been recent arrests in Dearborn. It has become a no-go zone. It is slightly comforting to know if a Jihadi goes jihadi there may be someone here to stop them.

Well, like the Czech’s say, if you’re in the middle of a terrorist “event” and the cops aren’t there, shoot the terrorist yourself. BOOM!

I’m all for Constitutional Carry, but I wish the legislature would take up the Enhanced Carry bill again. That bill was on its way to being passed just before Sandy Hook. The bill would allow ordinary peons to get the Exempt box checked on our CPL that allows carry in movie theaters, sports arenas, bars, churches, hospitals, and university classrooms.

Indeed, yes ... When every second counts, the police are only minutes away. (But at least our police are armed! I think Europe will wise up about that quickly.)

.... Michigan surpasses TX and NV on gun rights? Who’d a thunk it?...

Michigan’s old, draconian gun carry and registration laws done under the guise of “safety inspections” began in the 1920’s.
A black doctor who lived in an affluent white area of Detroit upset the local powers that be and a white mob wanted him to abandon the residence and started breaking into his family residence. He stopped the mob with a handgun.
He was charged with a crime for the handgun use and was acquitted.
In reaction, the anti purchase regulation and carry laws were passed.
If you weren’t wasp, no gun for you, and no carry.

The politicians are waiting for illegals to turn the state blue.

I know a guy who recently left Alabama because he wanted to escape (as he put it) "the gun nuts". Dulce et decorum est! He'll be surrounded by "permitless" (as the Founders intended) "gun nuts"!

I want this to happen. It will pass in the Michigan Senate. But I hope Gov. Snyder signs it, but I have reservations that he will.

The House did it’s part in passing this bill, but it seens the Senate is only lukewarm about taking it up. And then it would have to go thru our jellyfish-spine Governor. It’s still a rocky road to final approval, so all you Yoopers and us Trolls need to light up the lines to our Senators and the Governor to support this.

The ONLY Constitutional carry is unrestricted and unlimited. No permit, registration or other infringement. The second amendment does not exclude the freed felon or the insane. If you can not be trusted to be armed you should not be running around loose.

Looks like we’ll be waiting a while longer in NV. End of session rapidly approaching and the bill that would have provided us with Constitutional carry is already dead for this go around. Gotta wait until 2019 now.

Michigan is a hunting state. Lots of people here say they have never purchased meat. You can hunt anything here. Many businesses close down opening week of deer season. Hospitals tightly restrict vacation time that week.
