Senate Republican leaders outlined a very liberal ObamaCare replacement bill during their weekly lunch with their members on Tuesday, sources said.
The moderates are very happy, an aide to Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), one of the Senates most conservative members, told The Post. It was a very liberal bill.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told reporters that the upper chamber is getting very close to having a proposal to whip and to take to the floor on health care.
His comments came after the leaders met with President Trump at the White House to discuss health care reform.
According to one source, the document shared with members Tuesday excluded a provision that would allow state waivers for community rating rules something that was added to the House bill shortly before its passage.
The source said conservatives emerged from the lunch feeling very unhappy about the current direction of health care reform.

We will repeal and replace.
Voters, bend over again.
Conservatives aren’t making their case in public and the “moderates” are. If you want to win the debate you’ve got to have the debate.
Elections have consequences? Not in Congress. Nothing ever changes there.
Well, how long have you been seeing the same faces in Congress. Everyone is always worried about R/D instead of the actual people. 6 years of pain 20 years ago would have gotten rid of McCain but everyone wants the “R” in the chair.
The GOP PROMISED, that means nothing to them,
to REPEAL, that means reject, ObamaCARE, that
means RomneyCARE.
But they lied again.
... and Again.
... and Again.
Just get something done to start the process of destroying Obamacare completely. It will probably take several years.
While I would not be surprised if this were true, anything printed by the current MSM isn’t worthy of getting fired up about.
We’ll see what’s in the bill when it is made public.
A few days ago they were saying health-care wouldn’t be addressed this year.
We simply cannot trust the media any longer.
Destroying Obamacare and replacing it with Trumpcare isn't much of a win. It'll prove just as disastrous for the GOP as Obamacare was to the Democrats.
Any bill they come up with is worthless without the state waivers. It is the waivers that will allow for lower premiums and deductibles in the states that are serious about rolling back Obamacare.
Unless the conclusion you jumped too actually is a pool of quicksand
Washington DC is fed by massive government debt, in our printed, unbacked Federal Reserve currency. It keeps government and our markets afloat - for now anyway.
If you are in DC, you can't fight it. Given that every imagine social-engineering scheme is possible, it makes everyone a progressive - even conservatives.
Thank you.
“sources said” = fabricated bullshit
didn’t bother to read any further.
ANY plan out of DC is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. It doesn’t matter how many unicorns and rainbows are in it, it simply should not exist!!!!
It's hard not to see Trumpcare as anything but a disaster given the proposals and what's been promised. The GOP would have been better off repealing and not replacing rather that replacing one train wreck with another.
I thought Cruz was heading up this effort???
They will probably have to pass it for us to see(feel) what is in it.
Folks, we really need to get rid of the ill-conceived 17th Amendment. The state legislatures foolishly gave up their voices in Congress by ratifying that amendment, effectively repealing the whole Constitution by doing so imo.
Next, regarding the Senates Obamacare replacement bill, patriots are reminded that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the corrupt Washington cartel the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes.
"State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added]." -Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
So Congress must work Trumpcare within its limited Commerce Clause powers (1.8.3). This means not only removing federal laws and regulations from the books that are actually based on stolen state powers, such laws probably making healthcare more expensive, but also surrendering stolen state powers back to the states so that the states, not the feds, are appropriating taxes to run their own healthcare programs.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States."Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
And if Trumpcare ends up needing new federal powers then Trump must first successfully work with the states to amend a Trumpcare amendment to the Constitution.
Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!
Remember in November 18 !
Since Trump entered the 16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the 18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.
Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.
In fact, if Justice Gorsuch turns out to be a liberal Trojan Horse then we will need 67 patriot senators to remove a House-impeached Gorsuch from office.
Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February 18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.
While I Googled the primary information above concerning Iowa and New Hampshire, FReeper iowamark brought to my attention that the February primaries for these states apply only to presidential election years. And after doing some more scratching, since primary dates for most states for 2018 elections probably havent been uploaded at this time (March 14, 2017), FReepers will need to find out primary dates from sources and / or websites in their own states.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitutions Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal governments powers.
Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal governments limited powers listed below.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphasis added]. Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
