The magazine ban probably did help, small low capacity pistols along with revolvers and large autos which had single stack mags.

Having said that, the 1911 was stilld doing fine on it’s merits well before the ban. I would guess the 1911 is probably losing a little ground to more modern high capacity handguns but it is still a first class fighting gun.

I’m often awed that liberals seem to have no concept of math.

Every attempt to limit guns by limiting specifications just creates demand for adaptive implementations. 10 round limit? Go figure - sudden marketing of large caliber & subcompact sizes.

My winter carry gun is a Para-Ordanace P12 .45......based on the 1911...

Summer carry is a subcompact single stack 9mm....way lighter and smaller...easier with summer clothes for concealed carry....

The .45ACP. Specifically designed back then to stop moslem Juramentados when the .38 (.361 diameter)long Colt would not.
Now we use a 9MM (.351 dia) and call it progress.

Clinton also made the AR-15 platform the most popular sporting rifle inAmerica. People hurried and bought them prior to the ban, discovered they were great fun to shoot, let their friends shoot them, and that was that.

The risk of my state banning weapons, but with a grandfather clause, led me to buy everything I might someday want or that my children might want. I also got backups in case the state didn’t include a grandfather clause, for more flexibility on whether to comply with a full ban. I literally own four times as many guns as I would have if I trusted America’s enemies on the left to respect our God-given right to keep and bear arms. Unintended consequences are a good thing - I love my revolvers!

I’ve always thought Bubba contributed to the popularity of the AR-15. With the ban on ‘assault features’, came the rise of stripped down AR-15s that could be added onto....and now there are hundreds of ways to customize it, adding to its popularity.

Bah! The 1911 never went away. It has been the most popular handgun in America since at least the Great Depression. Gun loonies push all manner of tupperware guns, but the 1911 has remained a favorite through it all. I prefer the Sig P220 but I certainly see the love for the 1911.

It is the Porsche 911 of guns — antiquated and yet the best ever, both at the same time.

Seen the Clintonistas coming ...... stocked up on magazines for all my high capacity firearms. Still keep new spares for the next gun grabber administration. If you aren’t thinking about reloading, casting your own bullets, buying primers , brass and powder all properly stored and secured in rotational first in first out (FIFO) storage racks your a victim of future polidiots. Yeah I’m a fan of the 1911A1 and own a few but didn’t let Bubbafuco limit the few high capacity handguns I owned with clinton mags.

Think ahead, prepare for the worst and live life the best..... my opinion.

It was not the AWB but the obvious lack of stopping power of the wondernines that brought back the 1911 and its clones.

We love our Kimber 1911s. Beautiful pistols. We are saving to purchase a brace of carry versions.
