Much larger discussion of jury nullification and this case.

How much power do juries really have?

http://www.wnd.com/2016/03/how-much-power-do-juries-really-have/

The brochure in question in Michigan includes a statement from John Adams, who said of jurors, “It is not only his right, but his duty – to find the verdict according to his own best understanding, judgment, and conscience, though in direct opposition to the direction of the court.”

Judges generally "hate" such a concept. It detracts from their image, power, authority. And from their "I'm always right view of the law".

NPR RadioLab did a recent episode on this topic. Title: “Null and Void”.

I found it disturbing and full of propaganda. They painted a guy handing out pamphlets (don’t think it was Keith Wood, but maybe, can’t remember) as a dangerous nut case. Perhaps the particular guy they talked about was. But that does not negate the validity of the argument.

I was appalled at the discussion at the end of the episode. Too much “I trust the government to know what’s best and take care of me”.
