Leadership to them means we continue to spend more than our share on NATO while they remain slackers.

WOW, talk about cognitive dissonance! green passivism and military preparedness/leadership are diametrically opposed. Ol’ Chrystia is a maroon.

She said.....”Canada will seek to persuade Washington that its continued leadership is in the interest of the U.S. and the free world.”......

She’s too blind to see that Trumps assumed that leadership already....he’s just not doing things their way....no more free rides! You pay or we keep our money right here in the good ol USA for US citizens and the affairs of our own country...

For the first time in 28 years, the world is seeing US leadership. I guess it is a shock to the commie genetic dead-ends of the western world.

It’s hard to spin this any other way than: Winning.

But I’m certain the MSM will find a way to do so.

“She didn’t mention President Donald Trump by name, but reiterated Canada’s disappointment in Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement. …”

Trump pulls out of Paris prompting Canada to pay more for its own defense.

Trump is a GENIUS!!

Bizzarro World! Obama abdicates US global leadership, Trump proposes a budget to start rebuilding more the military, and we are accused of “waning” leadership. Where were these claims under Opoofter?

HAHAHA...Leadership is establishing the direction of a movement and impelling action. Seems like Mr Trump is doing that worldwide.

Myanmar, Macedonia or Ghana could defeat Canada without us protecting them.

Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland told Parliament that relying on the “the U.S. security umbrella would make us a client state.”

All I know is that when my Canadian friends come down for the winter, they load up on vodka and whiskey before heading home in the spring.

Try lowering your taxes CA, maybe your people would spend their money at home.

And any time a nation of 33 million has 90+% of its population living on the border with its neighbor, economic and other ties will be close. Mexico has its population centers in the south, around Mexico City. Not even comparable.

Interesting verb tenses here. She treats being a client state as a future possibility. But by her logic hasn’t Canada been a client state for decades?

“Canada is committed to make a “substantial investment” in its military”

that’s gonna blow the Canadian carbon “budget” completely out of the water.

So let me guess, they are going to buy more bicycles for their troops and a new row boat for their navy. I fell a whole lot safer now. Enemies of Canada must be hiding under their covers, shaking in their boots.

Canada has one border, and that’s with us. Who do they think is coming to invade them? For extra fun, isn’t this basically a tacit admission they’ve been freeloaders on us defending them?

Reword it like this. My neighbor has stopped using his smoker as often. With less brisket and chicken from him, I’ll be forced to cook more meals for my family.

The definition of freeloader.

“Freeland said Canada must do its fair share and dismissed those who are reluctant to spend billions on the military because Canada could “free ride on U.S. military power.””

That’s the ticket Freeland, the free ride is over. We don’t mind being a partner, but being your security blanket on our nickel is done!
