I love sports. Since I was a young boy, they've been one of the greatest passions of my life. For many years, my dream was to be a general manager of a professional sports team. I still think about it actually and sometimes allow my mind to drift to what my life would look like if I still went that route. The stance I am taking today did not come easily. It's heartbreaking, actually.

I'm an NFL fan. I watch the draft. I pay extra for the season pass on television so I can watch every single game. I follow the stats and standings and rankings religiously. It's an escape for me. Day in and day out, as I fight against injustice, watching a great game allows me to decompress from the stress of the cases I'm working on or writing about. I'm 37 years old and literally cannot remember a year in my life where I have not been a sports junkie.

Yeah, Shaun, I dreamed of being President, or mebbe just the HNIC and Chief Landscaper at a small estate in the NC coastal boondocks. But I decided against the highest office in the land. Although I did watch plenty of political theater on Snappy Sammy Smoot's WeeWee'd TeeVee and felt myself qualified. I just felt I could do the most for my country and civil rights dictating over my own l'il 6 acres. Self identifying as just another old redneck. d:^D

Bull crap. A dollar to a donut he never said that. Also, the fact that no one will pick Colin up says how owners perceive the fans reaction to his actions, not their actions. People have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who makes millions and then bitches about it while he working. Kap's QBR the last two seasons was 46 and 55. That doesn't get an NFL team into the playoffs.

Although he seemed to deny it today I suspect Kap wants starter pay even though the league now views him as a backup.

The detective who investigated the case in 1995 described King's injuries as "minor". The associated police report noted that the incident revolved around a fight involving only one other student who defended his girlfriend after being allegedly threatened by King. The report did not indicate the incident was racially motivated. There is no mention of a "hate crime" either with local police or with the FBI.[48][51] Keith Broughton, the investigating detective, said he interviewed six witnesses put forth by the school's principal, including a teacher who broke up the fight. All of them described it as a one-on-one altercation.[48]
