I do genealogy in my spare time. It is a shame that the census is becoming so political.

Years from now instead if male or female it will be a complete zoo.

They may decide to say Male, Female or Other.

And what about so called same-sex marriages?

What if a one mysterious gender marries another mysterious gender and neither one wants to admit that they neither male nor female?

Are they going to include all of the 91 or so gender/combinations?

Wife and I escorted the census worker off our property some years ago. He walked past two no trespass signs and a security gate.
A local deputy made a personal call on the guy based on his license plate.

I was a recruiting supervisor during the last census. My manager had recently moved from Chicago because her husband got a good job with the railroad. She thought the Sun rose and set because Obama wanted it to.

All a census worker is required to do is ask how many people live at a particular address. Period. No other information is required by the Constitution. All the rest is political BS...............................

I had an interesting experience with the Democrat data collectors — or i assumed as such.

I think it was before the 2012 elections, I signed up on-line as a fake telemarker for the Obama campaign just so I could brag to my liberal brothers I penetrated the Obama campaign as a joke. And there were no controls. You were just supposed to call people you knew but nobody checked. I never did a thing.

Shortly after that I was on the Obama website and they asked for a contribution so I typed in $75,000 by credit card, but never actually gave them my card number.

Well, not long after that, a gubment worker came to the house and wanted to conduct a survey of me and my wife regarding health issues. And for $90 somebody would come to the house for 2 hours and ask questions.

Well, on a lark, I said yes and the guy asked tons of personal, mostly medical and life style questions. I mean he must have asked 200 questions. Most of them were yes or no questions.

But later I figured this was a way the B’OB con artists would get deep intelligence on somebody they hoped to cultivate as a big donor — or at least someone friendly to their cause, or so they thought.

I seriously question whether the research study was legitimate. Seems it was a big data gathering effort for some ulterior motive. Big brother in the home snooping around, I guess.

My little tale from the 2010 census

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Found a census bag hanging from my door this afternoon. I opened it (short form...10 Q's) and read the instructions. Before I started to answer the questions, I noticed it was for the wrong address. I called the 866 number and after many go-arounds with the automated system I finally got a representative.....at least I think it was a person, but the voice sounded artificial and there were long gaps in the conversation. He told me to mail it back with “Wrong Address” on the envelope and that a census taker would be by to question me. How that census taker would know what address to come to, I never asked. I told him (it?) that I was willing to answer the questions, but that I was not interested in having visitors. He (it?) then gave me a number to call for my regional office, 1-800-492-1495. I called this number and reached a re-direct for a different number, 1-702-589-9300, and that a call to this number would cost me about $4.00. I called back to the 866 number. After another go around got a ‘representative’. After more back and forth with this one, I finally said, “Even though I'm not happy with some of the questions on this, I was willing to comply. But now, after all this idiocy, you people can do whatever the hell you damned well please” and hung up.

A little background is in order here. I live in a rural county that still uses RR (xx) Box (zzz) for addresses. We have been in the process (for at least the last four years) of getting street numbers for 911 purposes. Last summer a guy came by with a GPS and asked what my address was. I told him. I thought it was for the county mapping as they've been by several times for this, but later found out it was for the census. This tells me that even though they have the GPS coordinates for my place, they STILL got it wrong

Anyway, I took a walk about half a mile up my road and gave the census bag to the neighbor that should have received it in the first place. Though there was a bag on the house next to his, he had received nothing. When I explained that it had been left at my place in error he replied, “Census?!?! Pi$$ on ‘em!” and tore it up. LOL!!!

So here I sit. Waiting for the dreaded knock on the door from some flunky from the government who I have no interest in talking to whatever. Of course, if the person that got my form in error fills it out and sends it back without checking the address, things could get interesting.

Never heard another word from the government over this.

PS...about 4-5 years ago we finally got our 911 compliant street numbers. STILL haven't put one on my house, just on the mailbox which is across the road.

Yes, I will call as all Obama did was trash every decent zip code with more inner city trash. First it was convert all apartments to Section 8. Then they came like sardines packed tightly in cans. Now duplexes are even springing up.

The Census is, and has been in modern times, a tool of the left. When not openly manipulating the results, it serves as a jobs program for liberals.

And a damn good one too.

This was a screen capture I took of the website back in 2010 where you could find out where the "census jobs" were:

IIRC, didn’t Mister Obama try to move the Census Bureau to the White House?

All a census worker is required to do is ask how many people live at a particular address.

When I am looking for relatives in a 1910 census I am always happy when they list names, ages and occupations. And when it is all written legibly.

Great story. I filled out the long form in full - but never sent it in, hoping someone from Census would come by. I made a list of personal questions that individual would have been instructed to answer, in detail, before I turned over the form. Sadly, no one from Census deigned to collect the form,

My answers were the “truthful but unhelpful” variety. For example, I included my birth date - using the Mayan Calendar.

One question asked how many people lived here. I responded that every one of the is living.

I actually had fun doing it. The only downer is no one bothered to show up for it - despite the warning emblazoned on the envelope that returning it was “required by law.”

I address that question this way: all the people here are living.

The biggest priorities with the Census.

1) Return it to its constitutional mandate, “an actual enumeration”. Beyond that, it should not collect any data. Not authorized. Especially the stupidly intrusive and detailed information they want in the long form.

“Making life easier for bureaucrats” is *not* in the constitution. It is just not their business.

2) Restrict it to its constitutional standard: unless someone is physically counted, they do not count. No interpolation or extrapolation allowed. And logical fallacies, like 200 people sharing the same apartment address, need to be eliminated as fraudulent.

3) President Trump needs a SCOTUS case to determine if illegal aliens, foreign nationals, and foreigners on work visas should be counted in the census. If the SCOTUS says no, then the practice should be discontinued immediately.

That would eliminate most illegal Mexicans................

(a) Controlling the Census has a LOT to do with politics. The Census is used to determine demographics, to decide where to give grants and to determine who lives where, what their lifestyle is and their political affiliations. The census also determines what county is a blue or red county...which affects polls. Call President Trump Comments: 202-456-1111 Switchboard: 202-456-1414

If Hillary had been elected we'd have no chance to fight this type of corruption... Thank God Trump came when he did... Jeb would have been oblivious to this kind of stuff.
