Looks like most of the rest of meh-eek-O is a barren waste land. Or nirvana with ZERO pollution. ;-)

Paris accord... It is a scam. I think Trump is figuring out that the UN, NATO, EU and the rest of the globalist organizations are committed to robbing America’s sovereignty and treasure.

But algore said that is not true just like he said that Georgetown, Texas is a bastion of conservatism and the heart of the oilfield. Both of which just aren’t true.

I heard on GMA (my wife watches the crap) that the US is the MOST polluting nation so the WHO just has to be wrong.

“Prosperous and free market societies tend to not $hit where they eat or sleep.”

That would make a great bumper sticker.

I think governments all over the world are addicted to money from the United States. It needs to all come to a stop considering how much they all hate us and use us.

The CO2 emission of the U.S. has dropped almost twice as fast as Europe over the last ten years. The emission has dropped to a level below the 1990 level specified in Kyoto. The switch to NG is credited for this result.

A new turbine technology which implements oxy-fuel combustion, within a super-pressurized CO2 working fluid, is under test this summer. If the goals are met, Exelon will commence commercial electrical generation based on the zero atmospheric discharge plants by 2021.

This will replace Natural Gas Combined Cycle generation; and, perform CO2 capture at high pressure, at the comparable 60% efficiency level. The LCOE is calculated as about $41 MW, with a capitol cost of about $1 million per MW electrical capacity, for a nameplate 300 MWe turbine facility utilized at an average of 85%.

I did not know that, but again, I don’t think CO2 is a pollutant. But again, the US complies with the treaty, the rest of the world winks at it, and we are still considered the “polluters”.

BTW, How does a super-pressurized CO2 power plant costs compare to a typical NGCC plant?

The answer for most deployed technologies depends on what part of the country, thus which set of rules one operates under. Virtually every instance for new construction considered environmental taxes upon CO2 and other emissions as part of the cost calculations.

The 8 Rivers technology cuts the steam boiler, steam turbine, and associated cooling tower required of the second stage for NGCC; but, adds an air separation unit to provide an oxygen supply. The CO2 transfers to a pipeline, and sulfur or nitrogen pollutants are processed in the combustion produced water, rather than needing an add-on exhaust gas scrubber. Using super-critical CO2 rather than steam as a working fluid, gains almost 20% more energy extraction from the fuel, based on that one difference.

Here is a source for the economics of the SC-CO2 turbine— followed up by an evaluation of the EIA methodology for determining LCOE of all electrical energy sources; and, how that can be manipulated. The last resource explores costs on a per county basis for the U.S.
