An angry mother has accused a primary school of denying her child water on one of the hottest days of the year for fear of upsetting pupils observing Ramadan.

Kora Blagden, 32, claimed a teacher at her son Luke’s school refused to let the 10-year old drink from his water bottle because it was unfair to fasting classmates.

Many pupils at Charles Dickens Primary School, Portsmouth, Hampshire, are fasting during Ramadan, which means they refrain from taking food or water between sunrise and sunset for around 30 days, depending on the moon.

Another reason to be glad that the Hildabeast lost...otherwise this would be coming to the US within a couple of years.

I still contend that public school is tantamount to child abuse.

For many reasons.

Those teachers are idiots, not just by sensible Western standards but even on the Islamic scale. Children who have not reached puberty are not supposed to fast during Ramadan.

The teacher is an ignorant fool. There are exemptions to who must fast during Ramadan. Pregnant or nursing women, women in their menstrual cycle, prepubescent children, the ill and the elderly are exempt from the strict fasting requirements of Ramadan. They may fast if they choose to do so.

Are there any other religious requirements they have established for all students? Did they require non-Catholics to abstain from meat on Fridays during Lent? Do they take cheeseburgers and (most) pizza away from kids to enforce kosher rules against mixing meat and dairy? Or just prohibit the hamburger completely to make the Hindus happy? Or is it only Muslim laws the teachers enforce on the junior infidels?

it would be unfair if the other children drank in front of the pupil.

Flip it around. Time for muzzies to respect Christian values as it would be unfair to deny a child a drink.

82 degrees, that is. Mom’s a drama queen. Remember when we went to school, in the 60s and 70s, in South Texas, and didn’t carry sippy-bottles around all day? Remember going all day without using the bathroom because there was a crowd smoking and snorting? (/rant)

(This is irrespective of all other issues in this story.)

Kora is the mom who is complaining, not the teacher

Pure paganism in plain view

I’m not sure what this parent was expecting...after all, she did send her kid to PUBLIC SCHOOL. She has no reason to be surprised.

In the South, 82 is just slightly warm, and in the 60s no air conditioning either. Back in the old days nobody got a drink while class was in session. According to the article, the kid could get his water during break time. The headline of the story makes it sound like the teacher was treating the kid like the Japanese treated Alec Guinness in The Bridge on the River Kwai.

That’s it. The establishment of sharia and *slam as the official religion of the UK. Before long they will be ripping the St George cross from the flag so as not to offend m*slims.
It’s over for the UK, and I hope the formerly-Christians who orchestrated this are the first ones made to suffer at the hands of their new masters.
