I believe that the courts have already ruled that this church isnt a true religion. I just cant remember where I read it (or when). The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is not responsible for armed conflicts all over the world killing thousands of innocents; so how does a court rule out the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster as a true religion without simultaneously ruling out vastly more absurd major religions?

“Cavanaugh v Bartelt”. United States District Court for the District of Nebraska. 12 April 2016.
The court ruled: “This is not a question of theology”, the ruling reads in part. “The FSM Gospel is plainly a work of satire, meant to entertain while making a pointed political statement. To read it as religious doctrine would be little different from grounding a ‘religious exercise’ on any other work of fiction.”

You can't be serious.
