Democrats in America are evenly divided on the question of whether George W. Bush knew about the 9/11 terrorist attacks in advance. Thirty-five percent (35%) of Democrats believe he did know, 39% say he did not know, and 26% are not sure. Republicans reject that view and, by a 7-to-1 margin, say the President did not know in advance about the attacks. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 18% believe the President knew and 57% take the opposite view.
Democrats are the party of nutty conspiracy theories.
This isn't the meaning of "Natural Citizen" in the Constitution. This is, "Bush blew up the Twin Towers so he could create a Nazi State and Cheney and Halliburton make millions." That's what Democrats spent the Bush years saying.
So what'd we expect this time around?
Numbers would be a lot higher today, and probably most of the gains would be on the Republican side who no longer feel compelled to be counterpartisan on the subject of Bush, and have come around to agree that he was indeed a heinous scoundrel.
Ya can't fix stupid!
Didn’t buy it then.
Didn’t buy it years later.
Not buying it now.
I consider Bush to have been a waste of time, but I’ve never seen this as anything but nutter territory.
It ranks right up there with, “It was a Jewish conspiracy.”
And they get on our case because we really know that Obama is not a U.S. citizen.
What happened to him? I saw one special & he was quite funny.
I agree...Bush may not have been what we thought he’d be as President, but I don’t think there is any way he would have known about 9-11 or let it happen....
Ron White is still around...Look him up on Youtube....
I realize now that W and Laura and the whole treacherous gang of losers hold people like me in utter contempt.
Returning the favor. W would never defend himself, his party, and certainly never an ordinary American
He was exactly who I thought he would be as president.
We’re on the same page on this though.
I suspect our government of things, but you have to draw the line somewhere. I draw the line way short of this.
I remember reading, here on FR, that the military knew something was going on and tried to warn the upper echelon.
Question, would Americans have accepted homeland security without 911
just you and me awake
I thought he did a pretty good job his first term, but it seems he did nothing but sit on his butt the second term...
Doesn’t seem like the numbers have changed much since 2006. South Park had an episode that summed it up in this one short (bad quality) clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUXqDgOSia4
I tend to doubt it.
If you look at 911 as a crime instead of “an attack on our freedom” then anything is possible.
If it hadn’t been for 09/11, you’d say that about both terms.
While I do think he handled that fairly well, my question is this. Wasn’t that his job?
I appreciate things that he did, but I discount them because it was something we’d expect just about any Republican to do.
I try to look at other things, and I am not impressed.
This could open me up to some criticism. I think that might be fair.
Well, that is true...His first term WAS occupied by 9-11....
There is no difference in how the Bushes and how the Obamas feel about you and I.
They may marginally differ in which demographic groups they pander to, but neither of us matter in the slightest to them “not one of us, dear’ as either Michelle O or Laura B would sniff to their social secretary.
