They also bring others over that are new to America, barely speak any English and place them
in a lot of their operations. They work long hours sleep in the back room and eventually
are able to move out once the learn the trade. They will then move up with a store or
two of their own via money borrowed from their backers. And the cycle keeps repeating.

Most foreign owned hotels are owned by Indians. They generally start with small, rather run down hotels and improve them, then sell to a family member when they buy bigger and better.
The overwhelming number of the proprietors have the last name of Patel, which is loosely translated Innkeeper.
