The Financial Times reports that Penguin Random House paid an excess of $65 million for memoirs by both Obamas.

You are missing the big story. Obama is staying in DC. He is going to be the head of the Dem Party for at least the next four years. No doubt he is gearing up to help the Dems regain control of Congress. He is going after Trump who is tearing down his legacy. Obama heads the shadow government.
