Germany vaccination: Fines plan as measles cases rise
BBC ^ | 26 May 2017

Parents in Germany who fail to seek medical advice on vaccinating their children could face fines of up to €2,500 (£2,175; $2,800).

Health Minister Hermann Gröhe said it was necessary to tighten the law because of a measles epidemic.

A mother of three died of measles in the city of Essen this week.

The government wants kindergartens to report any parents who cannot prove they have had a medical consultation.

However, Germany is not yet making it an offence to refuse vaccinations - unlike Italy.

I wonder if this crackdown applies to immigrant parents.

Fine, if this new edict is applied as firmly to the new immigrants as it is to the historic population. That, by the way, is where so MUCH of these new disease outbreaks are coming from.

I expect to hear much more of leprosy and tuberculosis, also.

Hmmm, there was apparently no need for this crackdown BEFORE Merkel opened the floodgates...

Generally, if you follow the German newspapers, there’s a report about every sixty days of some TB outbreak. I think the last episode was around Feb/Mar at some German school.

As far as I can tell, there was never any real physical accomplished on any of the people entering into Germany. When I applied for just a plain long-term visa in 2013...I was surprised...no medical check required. There could be a thousand TB-carriers walking around in Germany and they just don’t realize it.
