CNN is evaluating Kathy Griffins role in its annual New Years Eve coverage following the comic's controversial photo shoot in which she posed with a decapitated, bloody head resembling President Trump.
We found what she did disgusting and offensive, CNN said in a statement Tuesday. We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down. We are evaluating our New Years Eve coverage and have made no decisions at this point."
Griffin earlier Tuesday apologized for the photo, noting that she had crossed a line.
I sincerely apologize, she said in a 31-second video posted on Twitter. Im a comic. I cross the line. I move the line and then I cross it. I went way too far. The image is way too disturbing. I understand how it offends people, Griffin added. It wasnt funny. I get it. Ive made a lot of mistakes in my career, Ill continue.
Griffin also asked for forgiveness in the vide, promising to take the image down. The photo, however, had already sparked debate on social media and caused "Kathy Griffin" to trend on Twitter.
Griffin has co-hosted CNNs New Years Eve Live broadcast every January since 2007 when she joined network anchor Anderson Cooper.
Cooper tweeted earlier in the evening that he was "appalled" by the photo.

[ One does NOT joke such a way, she MEANT everything in her ACTING, period !!! ]
Of course she did. That’s why I say, send her to prison. She was trying to promote violence against the President. Give her 10 years, at least.
