“The question is who was the first to initiate the physical violence. Was it the 2 or 3 males who, “Intervened” or was it the alleged murder suspect?”

“Do you know?”

Neither of us know the answer to that question, but a jury in Portland will at some point be able to answer that question.

Hmmm, that's extremely odd because just the other day you stated this guy was guilty and he would be sent to prison for life.

Why are your statements seem so inconsistent and convoluted?

My opinion is that he will be convicted.

The jury may have an other opionion, but I doubt it.

But you had him doing 198 years in prison for this yesterday!

You’re yet another very disingenuous individual.

The three men, according to police, were defending Christian from harassing two teenage girls, one of whom was wearing a headscarf.

Brent needs to learn English before attempting to write an article.

another paranoid schizophrenic who should have been hospitalized.

It is almost impossible to hospitalize such people, even when all the neighbors know they are crazy and dangerous...until they actually kill or try to kill someone.

“But you had him doing 198 years in prison for this yesterday!”

I’ll stick with that.

You see, juries do not like it when they get a case where two people are slashed to death, including an U.S. Army veteran, and the defendant is a ranting lunatic who was found at the scene with a bloody knife.

Perhaps he was exercising his right to free speech. “If you don’t like free speech get the f*** out of my country.” Quoting Christian... See the lead article for this thread.
Perhaps others physically interceded with that right. Perhaps he was triggered by this physical intrusion upon his person and took extreme exception to that.

We don’t know what the manner of the “interven!, calming down” by the three assailants was. We do know that if it was merely vocally challenging Christian then the media would have reported this already. All things considered, this should never have happened.

Christian, if convicted is eligible for the Death Penalty in Oregon.

He'll take a plea and get life, or something less due to diminished capacity...he'll never pass a psychological evaluation.

Its just too bad Portland PD didn't scoop him up sooner.

Good grief. You make statements like that then tell others it’s up to the jury? I would imagine you not ever serving on any jury would be a big plus for impartial justice.

The possibility exists that the two sixteen year old girls, the poet, the Army veteran, and the Reed College economics major, all met at the train station and colluded to taunt Jeremy to the extent that he would begin shouting obscenities at the girls. But Jeremy, being of such swift mind caught on to their conspiracy and foiled their plot.

However, even if that were the case, the actual events and what a jury determines were the actual events are not always one and the same. But, the only version of the events that matters is what the jury decides.

“He’ll take a plea and get life, or something less due to diminished capacity...he’ll never pass a psychological evaluation.”

That would be the smart thing for Jeremy to do, but Jeremy left his last smart move floating in the toilet bowl.

Jeremy likes to talk and defendants that like to talk and have absolutely nothing to lose, like to go to trial, and sometimes take the stand.

The State of Oregon will likely not execute him, so for Jeremy, he knows he will be locked-up for life.

Good point.

The irony here is anyone sane enough to stand trial in this case would take a plea rather than risk the death penalty.
