Dubke has no attachment to Mr. Trump and has always been something of an outsider. He's not a Trump loyalist and did not work for the campaign.
Which begs the question; why did he have this seemingly important job in the first place?

Word is that Mike submitted his resignation before President Trump went on his foreign trip. He was asked to stay on until President Trump got back. That is exactly what happened and now that President Trump is back he has left.
Dubke worked for Karl Rove.
