WASHINGTON (CNN) - Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly defended the uptick in immigration arrests by his agents with colorful language in an interview with FOX News Friday morning.
"Seventy-five percent of the people that the great men and women of ICE have taken into custody, 75% are criminals. The other 25% are not innocent; they are multiple deportees, they are people who have been fleeing from the law, they are fugitives. But they are not necessarily convicted criminals," Kelly said. Seventy-five percent are indeed criminals. The other 25% are not the valedictorians of their high school class."
Kelly's phrasing aside, his figures square with the latest numbers out from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In the first 100 days of the Trump administration: 41,318 immigrants were arrested. Of that total, 30,473 had criminal convictions, ranging from homicide and assault to sexual abuse and drug-related charges. That amounts to roughly percent 74%.

You know that at least 50 journalists are now furiously scanning every high school graduating class of the last ten years to find ONE valedictorian who is being pursued by ICE, to be blasted on the airwaves a la Clock Boy.
A lot of local sheriffs, especially in California, are refusing to let ICE inside the jails. ICE says “OK, we won’t pick up illegal aliens in the jails. We will follow them home after they are released from jail and arrest them in their homes and neighborhoods, and we have room in the van for the other illegals living with them.” I love it!

ALL illegal aliens ARE subject to removal.
We should not have to wait until they harm of kill Americans before they are removed.
There are NO “law-abiding” illegal aliens.
ALL illegal aliens MUST commit multiple crimes DAILY to continue their illegal presence.
Document fraud, illegal employment and benefit fraud at the very least.
No elected official should be protecting illegal aliens from our laws, including President Trump.
DACA must be ended.
If ICE is aware of any illegal they must arrest them by law. They cannot look the other way. Saying your focus is criminals doesn’t relieve you of your normal duties.
If your sheriff’s focus is murderers, does that mean he won’t arrest drunk drivers?
Agree. Another positive step would be to put the military on the border. Then, double ICE operations. Combine with welfare/workfare reform, e-verify and jail time for business owners who intentionally hire illegals. Substitute tariffs and duties for the personal income tax (keep corporate, but lower it). Enforce legitimate pollution laws, but lower other regulations. Restore a sound currency. End the Fed. Restore states rights.
Given the sorry state of our schools, I wouldn’t be too sure that a few are indeed valedictorians (at least in the few school that still have have that award).
I believe he means they aren’t valedictorians in their own country’s schools. I suspect many of them could easily be such in some US schools and even universities, given the path taken by our education system.
I don’t know anyone that cares if they find many valedictorians that are/were here illegally.
Don’t forget the court houses. Just proves where there is a will there is a way and those that have told us all these years it couldn’t be done...I hope they are watching!

I LIKE the idea of putting military on the Border. Pres. Trump are you reading these? How about using the Arizona, New Mexico National Guard. There all right there readily available. They could probably walk from their homes to a few hours of Duty on the Border.

Well we know this is how it is supposed to work; funny part is it has been a long time since ICE was allowed to actually enforce the law. They are still ramping up to be able to process large numbers for deportation because until that happens they cannot process all they need to.
Supporters of illegal immigration are advising all illegals to demand a hearing so the facilities now are inadequate and backlogged. There will be new deportation facilities built along the border and the plan is for them to be fully staffed including judges so they can hold deportation hearings on the spot.
I believe securing our border and deporting illegals will be the hardest fight this administration will face from dims and RINOs.
Has she been deported since President Trump took office?
Hope she has or is gone/going through the process to be legal if she plans to stay here or she might well be deported before too long.
