AP has Ginaforte blowing it out in Yellowstone County 56%-37% with about half that county in. In 2016 Ginaforte only won it 49%-48%. Either Dem precints in that county are largely out or Ginaforte is doing hugely better there this time.

I wouldn’t panic. Montana’s Democratic bastions almost always report in first, so the Republican is usually behind at this stage anyway unless they’re winning big.

It appears that five counties have returned their absentee results:

Missoula County (Missoula/U of Montana): the ‘Rat won these by 9k (19k to 10k)
Yellowstone County (Billings): Greg won these by 9.5k (27.272k to 17.681k)
Lewis & Clark County (Helena): the ‘Rat won these by 2k
Deer Lodge County (Anaconda): the Rat won by 1k, 1,892 to 885
Big Horn County (Hardin): Greg won the absentees 666 to 438.

The Losertarian Mark Wicks is drawing 6%; could be the spoiler in here.

I think like 60% voted absentee. My good friends all voted by mail weeks ago, and they voted for the Republican

This election has become a referendum on punching liberal reporters.

Looks like punching liberal reporters is winning so far.

NOT LIKING THIS

NATE SILVER 10:20 PM

Betting markets are also interpreting the initial results as good news for Gianforte.

No results yet from Cascade County (Great Falls), Flathead County (Kalispell), Silver Bow County (Butte) and Gallatin County (Bozeman). Those are the other sizeable counties in the state. The rest of the counties are generally 10,000 people or less.

Years of closely watching election night returns will do that to you. :D

Anyway, Ginaforte continuing to run ahead of his 2016 results:

Jefferson County currently is 56%-38% Gianforte. Was just 52%-45% for him in 2016.

Chouteau County is 54%-37% Gianforte now, was 51%-47% for him last time.

We may be ready to call this race for him soon.

Do you all remember that looney tunes snowflake who went around with a sign telling people not to tell him who won the election what ever happened to him? I wish I would’ve bumped into him and I would’ve said President Trump out of spite!

Cascade County (one of the bigger counties): currently 50%-43% in incomplete returns for Ginaforte.

He LOST it 43% to 54% for the Dem Bullock in 2016.

Again, either Dem precincts are largely out there or Ginaforte is rolling to a win.

Hopefully, this won’t be yet another race where the ‘RAT wins because a Losertarian takes votes from a conservative Republican
