Vice President Michael Pence, former governor of Indiana, was invited to speak at the commencement ceremony at Notre Dame instead of President Donald Trump. He became the first vice president to speak at Notre Dame's commencement, after Notre Dame decided to not invite President Trump breaking a long-held tradition since 1960 of inviting presidents to speak at the university.
Pence's speech focused on freedom of speech and how Notre Dame is one academic institution that encourages dissent and differing opinions. However, during his remarks, about one hundred graduates walked out of the ceremony, where over 3,100 graduates were in attendance with their friends and families.

Notre Dame has been an accursed institution ever since they honored the vile abortionist Obama. Satanic, no longer Catholic.
That said, the snowflakes that left the speech were relatively respectful, other than the obvious disrespect of standing up and leaving. That and the media inflated the numbers of those who left. They had it over 100 and the real numbers were more like 50-75. That said, college kids by and large can still handle disagreement, except of course for the pampered few who just need to speak out and be different. I'd rather they didn't show up than disrespect the speaker by standing and leaving the way they did. But all the little Johnny and Sally types whose mommies and daddies told them they could do anything they wanted when they were growing up will always be disrespectful a$$hats.
More favorably viewed, the invitation to Mike Pence was intended more as a compliment to him than as a slight to the President.
I wonder how unsafe these few students felt during the years they lived at Notre Dame and Pence was Governor of Indiana? Were they bitching about how unsafe it was then or is this a relatively new sore loser thing?
Many years ago, Notre Dame was a real Catholic University, today, not so much.
Has it been Christian in any palpable sense? In the sense of looking to the blessing, power, and presence of the Lord for its spiritual fuel?
When Christian faith (of any outward denomination) becomes more about itself, it becomes less about God. I’ve seen this happen in a lot of denominations.
Mr. Pence is carrying a political and spiritual suitcase nuke, and a lot of people know it. He’s Mr. Reparative Therapy to the “gay” crowd. The devil doesn’t cotton to that very well. Neither do ungodly politicians.
The fact is, Pence was an excellent Governor of Indiana; he is an excellent Vice- President and is an excellent public speaker.
While I would never accuse the media of making up facts, only 6 of the 12 Presidents since 1960 have delivered Notre Dame commencement addresses.
Yea, I understand. It’s more Catholic than you think at least at the student level. The leadership there is weak, but in general, the kids are still pretty decent.
I have a friend who attended the Graduation of a child last year. According to him, many faithful Catholics stood up and left when the President of the University- Fr. John Jenkins got up to speak.
He was not pleased that his child decided to go to Notre Dame.
1. The walkers need to be identified and names published.
2. The walkers should be barred from working for the US government which is probably is a goal - socialists dream of government work.
3. stop coddling university protestors.
No babies cried out in protest like they did with The Terrorist in Chief.
