Trump campaigned on strengthening the US, not Saudi Arabia. The B/R faction combined with the defense contractor faction have sunk their teeth into Trump, who I believe is well intentioned but is being manipulated. The Bushs want to protect their business dealings with the Saudi tribe, and the defense contractors want the business - business which should be to strengthen US as was promised.
The Saudi arms deal is asinine. The goals Trump outlined can be accomplished without our arming - with the largest arms deal in history - our enemy. The Saudis have spread their Wahhabism throughout the region and funds mosques in the US to spread their Wahhabism here. The 9/11 attackers were largely Saudi and Saudi government official were involved.
Recall that Perot claimed Bush’s campaign threatened to disrupt his daughter’s wedding, and so he withdrew from the race. At the time people thought Perot was crazy. Was he?
His best move - and it's a very high-risk move - is to resign from the GOP, denounce the leadership, call on Members to rally to him, and run his own slate in 2018, which could include (in part) House members who were willing to resign from the GOP and join him as well as any Senators (doubtful).
If he does not do this, traitor Ryan will have him removed from office within the year.
