RE Millennials:
Listen up snowflakes.
I grew up under a couple generations that stormed Iwo Jima, Saipan, Peleliu, Omaha Beach in Normandy, parachuted into Nijmehgan or Arhem Holland to take German held bridges, flew 30 seconds over Tokyo in stripped down B25 Mitchells, survived both Germans and freezing cold in the Ardennes, air assaulted in gliders into Germany, beat back ChiCom human wave attacks at Chosin AND pulled all their wounded and dead out as they retreated, and grinded a Tet Offensive to a halt in Hue City...
Those folks were a old as you kids. But light years more mature. And light years tougher.
And light years Better Americans.
Those folks have a day. It’s called “Memorial Day”. Read up on it.
Go back to your XBoxes and think about that for a while, before demanding your own day.
When you accomplish one tenth of what the previous generations have, then we’ll talk.
At 18 his Dad was gassed in the trenches of France.
They didn't get a "day" or a trophy.
Can’t I just slug one in the mouth? They don’t deserve anything more
Be careful who you push that to. 4 years ago or so, my neice’s fiancé was lugging a 240G (7.62x51 belt-fed MG) around some of the finer neighborhoods of Afghanistan as a Marine. He’s a good guy, not to be trifled with, and darn sure no snowflake.
How about filling every C5 we have with these gutless snowflakes? Off load them in Afganistan and let them fight their way home. Those that survive will have a new outlook on life. Wanna bet??
Then how about loading a couple C-5’s with everyone in Congress and off loading them in the hills of Afganistan as well? Give each of them a weapon and let them face ISIS and Al Qaeda and see who survives. They sit safely in DC like Kings and Queens on a throne meanwhile real American heroes protect and defend this nation.
The gutless snowflakes and political Kings and Queens don’t deserve to be called Americans. Let them go out to Arlington and beg forgiveness from those who truly sacrificed it all.
“Millennial leaders”
LOL
Yeah, maybe they can trash the economy for the next few generations, like the Boomers did for them.
Millennials (some of them) are rightly laughed at for the participation trophy mindset, but who was handing out the participation trophies?
Good post. Also we were brought up to respect elders, and; we took care of our parents when they needed it. Sadly, my wife’s two kids have never even sent her a Mother’s Day card. I ran into several elder folks at the nursing home when my wife was in rehab, who said their kids had basically taken their homes and never visit them. Sad.
