When we win the present war with the jihadis, we're going to have to be able to live with the remaining Muslims who will be cowed, as with the Japanese who were cowed at the end of WWII, barring a massive conversion to Christ (which would make me extremely happy). We can make them our friends for a few generations, or we can have a cold war for a few generations. After WWII we got both: friendship with Japan that continues until today, and cold war with the USSR that lasted until the mid 90s, and still has vestiges today. The more we can have friends in the Arab world, and the less we have wary adversaries, the better off we are.
