She is rude and obnoxious for spending time texting on a date, even if she lost interest in the guy. Three texts, yea right!
On the bright side, this made national news and gives some good info on the character of both of them if there are future prospects.

If I were single and a girl texted more than once during our first date, it would be our last date. Once is okay: “Green” (good date, no need to come up with an excuse to bail me out) or “Red” (call in five minutes crying, with a good emergency, where I have to leave immediately). More than that, and we are not going to be compatible.
If I were single and I got out of a bad first date for under $20, I would consider that a great financial deal for me. It’s well worth $20 to find out that you don’t want a second date with a woman. The girl is cute, but that is nowhere near enough for anyone sensible and over 21. As for the guy, the girl is lucky she showed her rudeness before she got to know that controlling loser.

Yep, that’s the way you do it. I wouldn’t even go to dinner on a first date, when you eat right in front of your dates face it don’t look too good, all that chewing and saliva, and food on the teeth. Walking and talking is the way to do it just like you said.
