As often as people clutch their pearls over threatening the president, it is difficult to find anyone going to prison over such threats.
Possession of pipe bombs is a different issue, though. A multi-year prison sentence for mere possession of pipe bombs is not unheard of.
The headline of this article is so misleading when it attributes the prison sentence to "threats" that it can almost be considered fake news.
