You KNEW this was going to happen, as did the GOP, thus the “replace’ aspect of CommieCare
The “media” will find the worst examples and highlight them one after the other to cover up their boy’s boondoggle.
Predictable like clockwork. It’s been happening since the welfare state programs from the “Great Society” onward
The Republicans SUCK at messaging. As soon as this hit, Democrats were ready with their lies which they repeat over and over and over. ENOUGH.
One has to back up and take a broader view than politics to see a solution.
Tying health policies to employment was something that worked practically. If you still could work, or were in the family of someone who still could work, then the risk was quantifiable. Plans would have little risk of running bankrupt.
Something completely voluntary and not tied to employment is like trying to square the circle. The system evolved from possible to impossible.
That said, it used to be that churches had a wide gospel outreach through helping the indigent with their illnesses. Could that come back? I don’t know why not if We The People are willing to look to that paradigm. And there are private plans such as paying a doctor’s office a fixed monthly stipend in order to treat anything that can be treated in a doctor’s office. We need to think outside of our current boxes.
That is why I think the GOP made a mistake here..they should have just let Obamacare collapse..then come in with a new bill..because now, every single BS story that someone supposedly goes through the media will highlight it for weeks and weeks saying how evil the GOP is..meanwhile with Obamacare, the media NEVER EVER focused on anything negative about it
