As lead actress in one of the self-professed "most iconic gay shows of all time," Debra Messing knows a thing or two about inclusiveness and equality. And Saturday night, at the 28th annual GLAAD Media Awards, the "Will & Grace" star called on Ivanka Trump to learn the same.
Messing, 48, was honored with the Excellence in Media Award, and took the opportunity to call out the "complicit" first daughter for failing to stand up to her father's discriminatory policies.
"It is not enough to simply say that women's issues are important to you," Messing pleaded to Ivanka directly in her acceptance speech. "It's time to do something. Ivanka, you can change the lives of millions of women and children just by telling your dad stories about real people who are suffering. Don't let him separate immigrant mothers from their American-born children…Don't allow him to make trans kids like Gavin [GRIMM]fight in court for their basic human dignity."
Messing has long been viewed as a gay icon thanks to her time on the NBC show, which originally ran from 1998 to 2006 and featured her as a city-dwelling interior designer with a gay best friend. Of her award, the actress told us on the red carpet that the honor "means everything" to her.
'Will and Grace' will return to TV this fall with a new season "I'm incredibly emotional about it," she said. "I'm trying not to ruin my makeup. When Vice President Biden said on 'Meet the Press' that 'Will & Grace' had done more to educate the country about LGBT issues than anything else, besides the birth of my son, that was the proudest moment of my life. And I think tonight I can fairly say is the third."
Messing also said she’s not nervous at all for the upcoming “Will & Grace” revival. Luckily for fans of the sitcom, NBC is reviving "Will & Grace" for a ten-episode return set to air in September.
"I am not nervous at all!" Messing told us of returning to the screen as Grace Adler. "Everybody knows these characters; everybody knows the voice of the comedy. They know what to expect and so now it's just getting back together with old friends."
The old friends previously reunited for a brief election-themed clip last September, the first time in 10 years the core four actors - Messing, Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes - were in the same room together.
"Obviously our country has been through so much in the last year that there's a lot of fodder for jokes and I know that I need to laugh again and I know that all four of us want to make people laugh," Messing said. "That's what we feel we need to do so hopefully we will be able to do what we did before, which is make people laugh, but also make people think."

Also, I doubt very seriously that Donald Trump and defiantly Ivanka has an ounce of hate in their body.

Why is she talking about inclusiveness at a segregated event?
The same people who are in favor of pushing homosexuality in a TV show, would be deeply enraged if there were any TV shows which pushed Evangelical Christianity.
