CNN has an article up today titled “‘Black Lives Matter’ cases: When controversial killings lead to change” which looks at how individual shootings highlighted by BLM have resulted in some changes to the law. Let’s stipulate up front that there’s nothing wrong with the subject matter here. A roundup of legal changes that have resulted from these high profile cases seems worthwhile. What’s not worthwhile is the way CNN frames a couple of the best-known cases, even failing to note there is no evidence for the story behind “hands up, don’t shoot.” Here’s CNN’s description of the Michael Brown shooting:

Michael Brown found out the hard way, as did Trayvon Martin, that if you make an armed man believe you are trying to kill him, you will get shot.
It’s now the stuff of legend; of religious belief.
Like the Matthew Shepherd lie, this lie will endure forever.
Erm, the only 'controversy' is people responding in bizarre, political ways to the necessary actions taken by police in response to drugged-up violent punks. The President was desperate to hustle votes so he thought he would make the police the enemy.
And what 'change' has occurred, apart from a few grandstanding athletes and citizens in blighted areas creating more blight by burning their own neighborhoods..
Lie, lie and lie, and eventually everyone will believe in lie or at least have heard it, “from somewhere”, thus must be true. Just like “global warming”.
As a teacher in pubic schools, (spelled wrong intentionally), the district continually lies; kids can’t learn because of poverty, our test scores are improving, the expulsion rate is down (because you can’t remove blacks), many opportunities exist in our schools, etc. These are lies, but keep telling them over and over and...well it becomes true.
This is the liberal mindset.
LOL! Treating “hands up, don’t shoot” as if it had occurred that way while ignoring the obvious, “pants on the ground” as some racist slur....
Let’s call it what it is. CNN survives by telling the lies that the left wants to hear.

Trayvon was given an honorary college degree so why hasn’t Michael? Huh? Why? That’s just not fair!
It is true, very true. To a lib. With libs the narrative is the truth, regardless of facts.
