Faux Outrage and Melodrama over Comey’s Pre-Election Letter
National Review ^ | 4 May 2017 | Andrew C. McCarthy

If Director Comey had not conducted his July 5 press conference clearing Hillary Clinton, there would have been no cause to issue the October 28 letter to Congress.

(snip)

What Democrats choose to forget, and hope you will too, is the closing section of Comey’s [July 5] remarks. That was when he seized the power of the Justice Department to render legal conclusions about both the prosecutorial merits of the case and the interpretation of the relevant criminal statute. In this conclusion, not only did Comey claim that Clinton’s conduct did not warrant an indictment, he gratuitously added the declaration that no “reasonable prosecutor” could disagree with his assessment.

(snip)

In fact, back then, while Clinton campaign staffers were a bit miffed over Comey’s censorious description of Clinton’s misconduct, smart Democrats understood that it was this stern critique that imbued Comey’s ultimate rejection of criminal charges with such credibility.

(snip)

Almost all criminal investigations are concealed from Congress and the public — indeed, grand jury proceedings are concealed by statute. Far from being outrageous, withholding information from Congress (and, for that matter, from the political components of the executive branch) is the norm in law-enforcement.

Ordinarily, the FBI does not confirm or deny the existence of an investigation and does not publicize the evidence uncovered in investigations that do not result in charges. In this instance, Comey decided not to follow those strictures. Why?....politics

It's been a slow evolution for Andy McCarthy from defending his friend and former colleague James Comey as a paragon of integrity to perhaps the dawning realization that Comey consciously and purposely lent his reputation for integrity, burnished by people like McCarthy, to whitewashing Mrs. Clinton's crimes in connection with her operating a private off-the-books server for her Secretary of State business.

Lately McCarthy has harped on the idea that the FBI should never had made any public comment on the existence or non-existence of an investigation into Mrs. Clinton's server.

But remember that Mrs. Clinton publicly admitted running a private server and deleting emails from it as early as Spring 2015.

The Democrats and the GOPe used the DOJ/FBI investigation as a pretext for avoiding the obvious conclusion that a special counsel with no connections to the Clintons or the Obama administration should have been appointed once Mrs. Clinton had admitted to operating the private server and destroying the 30,000 emails.

The DOJ and Comey investigating Clinton and publicly commenting on it was intended to forestall the possibility of a REAL investigation by a special counsel. If the DOJ/FBI did not publicly give the impression that they were in good faith investigating Mrs. Clinton, the public might demand a special counsel or, God forbid, that the GOPe congress actually do something effective.

And once it started to become clear that Trump would likely be the Republican nominee with his campaign positions against open borders mass cheap labor immigration, against Muslim resettlement in the US, and against the 'free trade' regime of the globalists, the Neocons preferred Hillary to win and not be taken out of the picture by a criminal prosecution.

So Comey, with his reputation for integrity and background as a former federal prosecutor, played the role of de facto independent counsel, publicly reviewing the evidence and exonerating Mrs. Clinton and drawing attention away from the way that the DOJ and the FBI rigged the investigation to protect Mrs. Clinton and her aides.

Comey: So what is your excuse for forwarding thousands of Hillary state department emails to Weiner’s laptop?

Huma: It wasn’t my intention to be a criminal and go to prison.

Comey: Okay that works for me. You’re free to go.

Saw him on Tucker's show last night, he's right, Comey is one odd bird.

If you haven’t been following George Webb, this is a great video to get started.

George Webb explains how those emails were transferred to Weiner’s computer. George points out that “server” was a server for all the blackberry’s in the conspiracy.

He said we are at a pivotal moment in time on this case. at 15:50 min mark

At the end of the video (19 min) he said people have scraped info into a text file from the slides and someone has written meta data and that file is 7 times the size of the Bible.

McCabe is the obstructionist in the investigation and Comey covered for him yesterday.

Comey is playing a double game and he is starting to get too cute for comfort by selectively giving the information he wants to get out threaten and intimidate while
using secrecy and espionage laws to hide what he wants to cover up and obstruct justice.

In doing so, he has made himself an above the law god of investigations.

He is digging a hole that will collapse on him and bury him alive if the true facts come out.

The hole will collapse as soon as he has dug a deep enough hole and Trump, Sessions, Grassley, Chafatez and others say enough is enough.

Trump can declassify the documents Comey is hiding under pretext of national security and investigative secrecy and have them released. This documents will demonstrate Comey has been obstructing justice and covering up misdeeds by Clinton and Obama to protect them from prosecution.

Comey will soon over play his hand and be fired and new FBI director will clean house.

George W has been on a tear for months but the last few days and especially today he seems bent on bringing it to a climactic close.

He definitely knows what’s going on and he knows a lot more than what he’s putting out on his videos.

Everyone watching George Webb’s Youtube channel, and especially today’s segments will be transformed once they see what a real investigator can uncover. George is setting or resetting the bar for investigative journalism and his new business model is blazing a path for all up and coming journalists to follow.

One problem though, George is self-funding. He’s personally well off after a life of exemplary and lucrative hard work. But most up and coming journalists can’t do that, so another funding mechanism needs to be found and shaken out. I have some ideas.
