When a crowd surrounds your vehicle your life is in danger. Your only option is to leave the area. If someone is in front of your car and is a member of the group trying to attack you, that person is an unintended consequence of your escape.
If someone in the crowd has bashed in a window, that’s a sign of things to come, and you’d better get out of there.
Should have been driving a semi and handing out Darwin Awards?
As soon as a driver fears for their life, are they justified in driving through the crowd who refuses to move?

Agreed. It was ghastly when the crowd swarmed the vehicle, presenting a grave danger to an innocent person. I was relieved when the driver, experiencing a fully-justified and rational fear of death or serious bodily harm, used the minimum force necessary to stop the immediate threat to his life or safety.
I have seen several videos on YouTube where a car pushes though and the protesters scatter, and nobody else does the same thing.
I am really annoyed that my fellow drivers cannot follow the leader. I am prepared to do my part if I ever find myself in one of those situations.
I have a Ford E350XLT with V8 and heightened suspension. Most people can fit underneath my vehicle without brushing up against the exhaust. Most people can!
Not wise to hold a car hostage with ‘signs’...
I still believe that here in the States is a federal law prohibiting the stoppage of interstate transportation.
An aside: as the broadband speeds get faster, web browsing gets slower. I have AdBlock but RCP, for example, has figured out a way to counter it. Viewing your link on an older iPad without AdBlock...pure torture.
So much for “progress”.

The sort who participate in that kind of protest would object to being prayed for, and most of them NEED hurtin'!
If I ever have to drive in a city where there might be a protest then I think I’ll ask my husband to put the snowplow on our truck.
Snowplows: Not just for snow anymore! (-:
The bodies of morons = the new infrastructure... winning!
I saw that when it came out. All those jackasses on motorcycles and other stuff terrorizing people on the highway.
I thought they should have all been run over.
Sharpening that horizontally mounted chain saw blade across the entire width of the front bumper requires too much chain bar oil to make it cost effective.
The driver in the video was stupid but fortunate. The correct move would have been to back up several more car lengths in order to build up sufficient speed. My rule of thumb is at least redline in first gear.
I just got a chance to watch it. Did you see how fast the smarter ones got out of the roadway after they saw what happened?
I didn’t think it was ghastly, any more than watching a guy get gutted who was trying to feed a great white shark by hand in the open ocean with a leg of lamb is ghastly.
That is what happens when you block a roadway and get in front of cars that weigh thousands of pounds.
Anyone who is suddenly surrounded by angry people in the middle of the street and DOESN’T fear for their life is a moron.
