If they are here legally, no issues. But the article misleads by misdirecting with "workers", "illegal" and visa overstays. The Dishonest Media continues . . .

MAGA!

If someone who works at the Kentucky Derby might get deported, why, we can’t enforce any immigration restrictions then, can we?

Find it hard to believe that as venerable institution as the Kentucky Derby hires illegals.

VeryFakeHeadline!

It should read, "Illegal Aliens FEAR DEPORTATION AT CHURCHILL DOWNS."

“anti-immigrant fervor”

Typical trickery. Nobody daid anything about being anti-immigrant.

Gee, if they are on an American payroll, they can’t be illegal, can they? That would mean somebody cheated on the I-9 verification. And we know that doesn’t happen......

Indeed. They are trying to make it out it is all immigrants, when in fact it is only if they are illegal

If they fear deportation they aren’t immigrants.

race tracks have traditionaly hired illegals to work as grooms and hot walkers, 30 years ago when I worked as a hot walker more then 50 percent of those working at the race track were illegal . I remember in the 80s we would have raids by ins and temporarily there would be a shortage of workers while those who trained horses waited for new illegals to show up. I have a low opinion of those that ran the race track because a lot of times you would have trainers who would hire people and then not pay or demand they work for wages that were less then minimum wage. they were able to get away with this because most were here illegally.

Churchill Downs doesn't hire any of the people referred to in this article. They are employees of the trainers of the horses, and not necessarily wetbacks.

I’m not sure what they’re worried about. If they are illegal immigrants they surely would not be deported until after the race.

I see. Thanks.

In California, the Mexicans are very capable horsemen. They really do have a knack for it. But if some puke uses illegals to train his thoroughbred then I hope he or she goes to jail at the same time the illegals are deported.

Fancy horse people like to hire illegals so that they don’t have to pay them much.

But, but, how could that be??? The media and all the (not) amnesty shills have assured us time and again that illegal workers have never driven down the wages of citizens, let alone never underpay, or not-pay, their slave laborers. They’re just doing the jobs Americans refuse to do, oh... wait....
