President Donald Trump says the U.S. is losing a tremendous amount of money defending Saudi Arabia, complaining that the Gulf monarchy is treating the United States unfairly.
In a wide-ranging interview with Reuters, in which Trump discussed his first 100 days in office, the President criticized the key Middle Eastern ally, claiming the Kingdom wasnt paying its way, and was relying on U.S. defense spending for its security.
"Frankly, Saudi Arabia has not treated us fairly, because we are losing a tremendous amount of money in defending Saudi Arabia, he said.
It is not the first time Trump has accused Saudi Arabia of failing to pull its weight on defense. During a presidential campaign rally in Wisconsin in 2016 when Trump appeared to be the frontrunner for the nomination, he told the crowd: Theyre not paying us a fair price. Were losing our shirt.
The president met with Saudi Arabias deputy crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, the oil-rich nations defense minister, in March in what was hailed by the Saudi delegation as a historical turning point in relations between the two countries....

I blame SA for 9/11.
Negotiation started.
Maybe it’s time for a pro-American government in Saudi. Yes, Regime Chenge. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Wait. Wait. Wait until I can duck into my flack-shielded underground safety bunker. /s
No kidding.
“Frankly, Saudi Arabia has not treated us fairly...” —> 9/11, for sure.

I just call it Arabia.
Started? No churches, no religious freedom, no human rights unless male, straight, Muslim, and Arab. Fomenting jihad against the West, helped to form and still bankrolling Isis, These people have been at war with us, openly, since the 1960s! We spend tons of money and munitions in their war against Yemen. Tell them “We don’t really care who controls Mecca”
That will get their attention, finally.
America spent jillions propping the Saudis up because, in spite of their restive behavior, it felt that the alternative would be even worse.
Whatever we do with the Saudi tiger that we are riding, I’d suggest not turning it over to something even worse, until we are ready to say goodbye to all that oil.
To have all Islam embroiled in internecine fighting over what to do with Mecca might be a sight.
It might be interesting, however, to get an accounting as to how much extra all that oil is costing us. If mere money is the only thing keeping us from having enough oil, Trump could propose sinking our subsidies to the Saudis into domestic oil production instead.
However another reaction of the Saudis to this pressure could be to just go more bargain basement with their oil than they have already. That would keep the US in oil, but at the cost of what?
I pray wisdom to Donald.
Time to cut them lose, Mr. President.
Ack! lose = loose
AND WE’RE DEFENDING THEM?
THAT’S GREAT.
SHOULD MAKE THE 3000 DEAD REST IN PEACE EASIER
Probably should be called wahabbi Arabia.
He wants something. He always complains like this before he negotiates or makes a play. Think “the media has been treating me very unfairly.”
About time somebody recognized this.
Careful Donald, that’s no way for Ameriki slaves to talk about there masters. /sarc.
Truly that is how the saudis look at us as we do their bidding. Every single senator and congressman who takes money from them needs to be hung for treason.
Well no kidding Mr. President. So stop.
And why do we protect them?
Ca$h for klunker Senators...
