Indian Woman Sold, Tortured After Entering Saudi Arabia on Housemaid Visa
Breitbart National Security ^ | 4/26/17 | Edwin Mora

A woman from India was sold to her immigration sponsor for an estimated $4,700 after she entered Saudi Arabia on a housemaid visa and is being tortured by her captor, her daughter tells the Times of India (TOI).

“My mother is in trouble in Saudi. She wants to return home, but her Kafeel [visa sponsor] is not allowing her to get back here,” Sameena Begum, the victim’s daughter, told TOI.

Her daughter revealed that the victim “is facing mental and physical harassment at the hands of her kafeel (sponsor) in Saudi Arabia,” points the Indian news outlet.

“The torture started when she denied to a contract marriage with her Kafeel in Saudi Arabia. She, however, informed me sending a message that she was sold by agents. So the Kafeel does not want to send her back,” added the daughter, noting that her mother told her she was sold for 3 lakh, or 300,000 rupees (about $4,700).

Sure am glad that Saudi Arabia is on the UN Women's Rights Commission. That will fix this situation… </sarc>

Occasionally the same thing comes to light over here.

So are great Bush family friends. Bet they make Barbara proud that her husband and sons give fealty to the Saudis. And Obama, are these values he’s proud to support when he thinks of his daughters? Maybe he should marry them off to a Saudi.

I’m sure you are a smart person, but that is an idiotic statement. On those rare occasions when “the same thing comes to light over here” the government is all over it. In Saudi Arabia, I will be surprised if she is released, and shocked if any actions are taken against her current or previous slaveholder.

I guess my point is more along the lines of yes, it happens, there, here, lots of other places. Why is this one instance so shocking.

Such thinly-veiled anti-American micro-aggressions always steam me royally. They are nothing but liberalesque equivocations attempting to illuminate some moral relativity, usually between the 'bad old USA' and some third-world shi*hole.

When the offender tries to cheapen the wrath he generates by posting a bio including "former military," that takes the cake. You'd think someone willing to die for this country might have nice things to say about her, especially when the comparison is to a jihadist-littered dictatorship hellhole.

Capisce?

Such slavery has been exposed in America as well in muslim households.

In one case I recall, the couple was required to pay “back salary” to the slave. The rest of the abuse may have had its own settlement or punishment, I don’t recall.

Now one understands the wisdom of the UN for putting Saudi Arabia on the women’s right commission

I brought it up as well. It isn’t about “moral equivalence”, it’s to say that the world (even the so-called anti-slave protesters in America) don’t give a damn about Islamist slavery in the modern 21st century world.

That’s true! We have had situations like this on Long Island (once, as I recall) and the perps, a man and wife, went to prison. Perhaps the poster simply meant Saudi nationals and others do it over here as well.

Philippinos are disposable in Saudi Arabia.

And Bahrain they are held hostage in the country until their contracts run out. Their passports are held by their employers.

The only way out is to marry a US service member. Then they get a Camaro! Old joke....

Slavery is still ok in the Koran. Muslims have little respect for man-made laws!

Saudis are savages sitting on oil, and nothing more.
