I recently rode eight hours with a guy who despised Trump. I and a fellow Trump supporter said nothing. There was no argument. First, this was a business relationship and we need the business this man represents. Second, nothing he said, intellect-wise, rose above verbalized negative emotions. No logic. No facts. Just anger. What can you possibly say to counter an overarching negative view on Trump, life in general, and conservatives in particular?
My impression is that the hugely publicized AstroTurf brouhahas seem to be people just like him. All emotion and no logic.

Sorry to hear about the annoyance. And yet. Maybe just blowing off irrational steam will help him take a clearer view in future.

I encountered the same during the Clinton years. The Clinton worshipers refused to listen to reason or facts. Their only response was to spew slogans. Bush haters, the same thing. They could not give a reason they hated him, only that they did. obama voters and worshipers, I never tried to communicate or reason with them. Once I learned that they voted for obama, we parted company. Trump haters? Again, they can give no logical or sane reason that they hate him, only that they hate him. Why do I hate Bill and Hillary Clinton? The biggest reason is that they sold out military technology to the Chinese Communists and anyone else that had the money to pay for them. Why do I hate obama? The reasons are many. The simplest explanation is: Everything he said and everything he said.
