Last week Trump supporters and leftist social justice warriors met on the political field of battle in Berkeley, California. Words were exchanged, as were punches. And while an alt-right leader was punched in the face, by all accounts even the social justice warriors admit that they got a major beat-down.
This prompted a reddit discussion among the left’s tolerant resistance movement, with many asking how they can more effectively go to war against anyone who disagrees with their social, political, and economic views.
The anti-Trump protesters at the rally were ill-prepared for what they came to Berkeley to confront and now they are trying to figure out ways to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
In short, as predicted, they are turning to militancy and mob action by mobilizing individuals and groups to attend combat training seminars, acquiring better equipment like baseball bats and helmets, and of course, if things really go bad… guns.
Yes, we seemed to have lost today. The alt-right held their ground. If we wanna take action against them, we need to be better organized and better trained. It doesn’t help that it’s only the far left opposing them, any trump supporter can be radicalized far easier than any liberal.

Most people (myself included) have no interest in Civil War 3. I suspect if these idiots DID start shooting, they would soon all fold like flowers once the other side retaliated and taught them that life isn’t a video game.
Besides, given their track record, they are more likely to kill one another than someone else.

Might I suggest that those physically able take Jiu Jitsu classes. They show you how to succeed in any form of attack.
It’s the very best personal defense class one can take. There are videos online so you can see the various assaults and how to get out of them. Just for info.
Many maneuvers, but there really is the need to take classes because you have to practice timing. It’s all about timing and that you can only get by practice.
You can easily turn their attack against them. I highly recommend it for all men and women. Turn their actions against them for victory! You will definitely win the battle.
It's a fight for perception, as well as encouragement for those who are fearful of stating their political beliefs. Conservatism has long eschewed such overt acts of public support, in part because conservatives commonly understand that politics is a personal view point. The left has used many outrageous acts and attacks to build the perception that conservatives should back down from their principles - whether due to outright intimidation and threat, or because "so many others" disagree so strongly.
There are people standing on the sidelines who are sympathetic to the conservative viewpoint, but have not yet decided to voice their opinion publicly. In the case of your BIL, you understate your opposition to his opinions in order to keep the peace - but perhaps you are allowing bystanders to hear only his side of the story - which may convince some that there is only one side to be heard.
This is all just my opinion, of course.

Meanwhile, the people in the middle will want the conflict to stop. After a while, they will grant power to ANYBODY who they think will make it stop. That's the plan.
